Right
So we are being 100% literal are we

You said National League North as if the Saudi top flight is some part time crap stack.

It's been fully professional since 2007 and their national team draws from players exclusively from that league. That team they had at the World Cup in Qatar beat Argentina 2-1 and although they finished bottom of their group, they did pretty well all things considered in a group that also had Poland and Mexico in it.

It's not just you, but there's this weird assumption that any league that doesn't feature in football games or get mentioned on Sky Sports is somehow Sunday League standard and I've never understood why that is. Do people think the top flight in Egypt or Indonesia is like watching Beverley Town's standard?

I wasnt being literal but thanks for the info

Top flight of indonesia must be better than the championship though, 1 beats 2;)

You should have told Kieran McKenna, he was under the impression Jaden picked Ipswich but couldn’t get out of the Villa contract clause, or maybe he’s just talking bollocks.

“He has shown a desire to come here, not just now but in the summer as well. It's pretty well known that we tried to bring Jaden to the football club in the summer and amongst having the options of quite a lot of well-established Premier League clubs, his expressed desire was to come here.

“It was something that we tried to do in the end, but it wasn't possible with the contractual situation with Aston Villa, and he went back to his previous club.”

I theorised in the summer that like archer, Philogene had to sign a pre contract with villa which meant if they matched our bid he was forced to go there.

Best have a PHD in mentoring then

I usually push back on Kalman's negative slant on transfers but I just can't get on board this one. We've been saying for weeks we need players who can hit the ground running as we don't have time for players to get up to fitness, but then we go and sign a 37 year old winger who hasn't played for 2 months. It reeks of desperation. I'd rather us sign a Harvey Knibbs or someone like that from League One if we're going for a cheap punt.

It’s a very weird one you are right

I pretty much agree with what Syd said, although I would replace desperation with reactionary. At the same time, though, you're right, it's weird, so weird that I have to believe Selles sees a good reason for it.
