What do you reckon will happen to West ham ? their player should have been on nations cup duty, but was supposed to be injured then played for them in the f a cup and scored the winning goal at Bristol city. A player cannot play for any club while the national team play in the African nations cup, but he did.

I was thinking that.

I don`t see how keeping the tie can be justified. Should be forfeited or a replay at a neutral ground at the very least imo.
If they've been fined then they are guilty, surely bristol will have something to say

City's response to FIFA announcement.

Bristol City FC notes FIFA’s decision with regards to the Disciplinary Committee’s case against West Ham United and their player Diafra Sakho.

The club is disappointed with the penalty handed down by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee and is considering its options.

The club will be making no further comment at this time.

to be honests its a bullshit rule anyway. If the player really wanted to get involved he would have flown out and got involved. Clearly he didn't give two ****s and wanted to play for WHU.

They need to get a move on, not long to the next tie.

Or was told he had to.

The fine was imposed by FIFA. Would they have any say in a domestic competition?

Got to be up to the FA surely?

I would have thought so. But if there's a row between a Football League club and a Big Cash Cow League club, guess which way the FA will decide.
