Yes correct, I was a Hern Mercer nut which I'm sure some have picked up.

    Woohoo *does a victory dance*

And here he is Busty ..... I had backed Meadow Court that day, but he was a very poor second.

    Not sure I've seen that.

Never ran again as he got a virus and the whole Hern stable ran like pussycats that year. Sold to Russia (!) and broke his shoulder almost immediately he'd landed in the country.

    Mercer was particularly rhythmical there.

Thought the 1 would fool some of the punters but if you were interested then you'd know the numbering was different.

No mate - it was a sheer guess - I had no idea what his race card number was and it can't be seen in the vid :)
So what was with the numbering then?

Order of owners surname, unless HRH had a runner then she had number 1. Not handicaps of course.

    Provoke was owned by Astor

Anyone getting all six will definitely have cheated! <laugh> Results later

EDIT: I didn't realise that zooming in wouldn't be possible, you may have to copy and paste and zoom offline, sorry.

I'm actually not sure of the date ....... :emoticon-0158-time:

Word of honour, I haven't looked at the results yet, apart from the Gainsborough Chase, but I'd like to think that Kingward could not give all that weight away, so maybe Blackthorn Winter with Elsworth up. The Park Handicap Chase looks a cracker even with Sun Hat as a NR - maybe Charter Flight's consistency will pay dividends? One of my favs runs in the Hunter chase - Milo - but at 14 his better days are behind him, so I'll go with Sunbeat. Cardinal Error in the next and going with Gifford's mount, Sable Tang in the last <ok>

<laugh> Wouldn't believe it, but I think I've cracked one of them already.

Winner of the Gainsborough Chase was Different Class. Seems he was owned by Gregory Peck and finished third in the 68 National.

PS, just checked out Wiki, he's not on the list, but in another site, he listed as a winner of the race.

    http://www.tattersalls.ie/sales/august2008/00000638.pdf

Forget all of the above, it looks as though he ran third. :(

That's not the idea Cyc...ha ha

And anyway I think it says he came 3rd, which was no mean feat considering the field!!

Ok, Stalbridge Colonist won the race in 69, so he has to be my answer.

As Stalbridge Colonist was a 10yo it is definitely 1969.
