So... Reed/SFC has narrowed down the list of managerial contenders to a list of four (who were all on the original list) and an appointment is now expected next week. But who do you think the Fab Four are? And who is the chosen one waiting on paperwork?
Views?

Koeman
Bruce
Tuchel
Moyes

or maybe Sherwood or Mancini? Mancini - surely not...?

I don't think Koeman is number 1, and I hope it's not Bruce, much as I like him, although I think it might well be him! I'd be well chuffed with Mancini or Moyes though.

PS Please don't trash me for posting a new thread! This isn't like the other thread which is about who do you want. I want to know who you think the four ARE, and who is THE ONE

Rachel I'm pleased you mentioned Sherwood and avoided "surely not" as he wouldn't have deserved that.

When I said 'surely not' about Mancini, I'm complimenting him, in that I'm not convinced Mancini would consider coming to St Marys (yet). I think and hope that Sherwood would though

You hope Sherwood would? Really? I hope to never see him within 400 yards of St Mary's ever again.

Sherwood is a good coach. He was head of our development team and has brought through future world cup star Bentaleb. I hope he is in the running for the saints job <ok>

I reckon it has to be Koeman, there have been a few separate "sightings" of Mancini in Southampton, Tuchel appears to be popular around here and I'm expecting a real long shot that nobody has thought of.

If that's the criteria, rather wish you'd taken Jason Dodd instead of Pochettino.....

When Pochettino is sacked, I will probably agree with you.

Yes, we also know you're not a Pochettino believer.

Tell you what, give him back - you can have Dodd and we'll throw in Paul Williams for free. Well, I say throw, that might be difficult. We'll roll him in for free.

Really?! He looked tactically inept - very McClaren esque in his early days. Don't get me started on his embarrassing interviews either.

Many suggested that but he completed the double over Pochettino and finished the season with an impressive win rate (for a rookie manager), plus learning your trade in a high pressure job is never an easy task.

Yes, he completed the double - 2 games that could have gone either way. I watched a few Spurs game when he had taken over, the defence was a shambles, his formations questionable and the over use of Bentaleb. With players of Paulinho's and Sandro's standard sitting on the bench.
