james wilson is now ready he was brilliant today and tbh i think we need a RB and a LB im ok with JW & LF in the middle unlucky to lose i think, 89th minute with 8 new players on, mind you james was fantastic today aswell but foster was brilliant how he saved maynards shot after the break was a great save all in all im fairly happy with what i seen, a few things need tweeking but fairly happy
'Against a premier league side, no harm in it, a quality side' The worrying thing though is that West Brom lost their previous pre-season 0-3 against Rochdale!
p49 but pre season games mean nothing. i mean scoring no goals in 1st home pre season game is not important. its not important to get fans excited. its not important to go into the 'real' games without having confidence or a winning mentality. like i said pre season games mean nothing
'It will be the first time this pre-season we will be putting out a team that will resemble the one that could play in the opening game against Manchester United'. Roy Hodgeson, manager of WBA.. Not a bad result when you read that, maybe, just maybe we are doing okay. ( I'll be the first one to moan if we don't) you knew I'd say that anyway...
I take your point CJS. That's probably why only 6,650 City fans turned up to see their first home pre-season against Premier League opposition, less than half their normal gate. We, being a little club, got 3,500, more than half our normal gate, v Reading. However as long as they're creating chances, linking well, and showing signs of playing flowing and exciting football I'm sure they're not losing too much sleep!
Only, only if 6650 fans turned up at the minimal for a friendly, your lot would be pooing yourselves,P49 BEHAVE,it's cjs and Chris influencing you......
oldboy...you know there's no malice You'll have your turn, then we'll have ours, then you'll have yours...and so the pendulum swings........
very good point p49. imagine if we had a prem side, we would have more than the city lot had today, like when we went to wembley!
oh and our was a league 2 game as well and theirs was a championship game. says alot about them mind dont it
Well CJS, when we're playing in our wonderful new stadium and City are still rattling around in that wooden garden shed of theirs; and the students and the residents of BS34 are flocking in their thousands to watch Rovers our day will come! http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5gvi7_dream-dream-dream-everly-brothers_music
pretty happy the way we played, West Brom are a good team. I don't think I've seen a player faster than Odem Wingi. We actually passed the ball around, and not just hoofing it to a 5 foot nicky maynard..
"Well CJS, when we're playing in our wonderful new stadium" I dont think so! (I have moved my mum in to the battle zone and she will not be defeated) One woman said she was against it because it would be at the bottom of her garden. One Hambrook resident, who asked not to be named, said: "The traffic on the A4174 ring road is already horrendous. If this stadium goes ahead, then it will just get worse." She's worried that fans would try to avoid the ring road by cutting through residential streets such as Filton Road and Stoke Lane. "The residents in Cheswick Village are up in arms over it, as some of them only bought their homes last year." A Cheswick Village resident who also asked not to be named said the stadium would create a lot of noise pollution and claimed it would be only 50 metres away from the nearest homes which would affect people's quality of life. She claimed some houses would suffer from loss of light or overshadowing, loss of privacy, noise and disturbance, smells, and loss of trees I happen to agree with them, I think this calls for a petition!
Bugger the people, what about all the poor butterflies, newts, toads, frogs, bats and all those lonely trees,I hope Avon Wildlife are taking note. A petition is needed to protect all these poor creatures from destruction....
