What I find puzzling is that for years now people have said 'illegal war'. Anyone in this country can bring a private prosecution, if it's that ironclad a case why hasn't someone with money to burn done so.

You’d be wasting a huge amount of money as your private prosecution would never see the inside of a court room.

The CPS would take it over and then discontinue it, as not being in the public interest.

And yes they can and do, do that.

There's plenty who throw away money, Paul Marshall for one, a hundred and thirty million and counting.
No idea who Paul Marshall is but going back to your question about a Blair prosecution for war crimes and entering this country into an illegal war and being responsible for the deaths of many, many UK military personnel as a result of those actions, the CPS would never let it happen, which is why no one has attempted to do it privately.

Unless of course there is now an infinitesimal shred of evidence of WMD‘s in Iraq ? Is there ? Anyone ?………..

Probably not, but that's a guess, much like you're guessing the CPS would block any private prosecution of Blair. Until and unless someone tries it we'll never know for sure.

Everything in the future is a guess, so unless we only comment after an event has happened that’s a moot point. Forums would be somewhat pointless if we could only do that.

There is plenty of evidence of the CPS intervening into private prosecutions and stopping them and a case against Blair brought privately would 99.9999999999999999% be blocked. And ok, yes I accept that means I am still guessing.

But if anyone thinks that such a case would actually reach trial, then all I can say is congratulations on your escape from your mental health facility.

There's more chance of Andy & Mandy standing trial for misconduct in Public office - zero % - than Blair ever being brought to book.

When you were as powerful as those men were in their glory days, the worst that ever happens is that you might get stripped of a few Titles and have to hand back a few medals.
That, and being remembered for the lies, the sleaze and perhaps the compromising photos & cringeworthy interviews.
Your legacy being that people know what you really were.

To be fair to Mandy and Andy, neither of them hold any responsibility for the murder of British military personnel in illegal wars.

Will the war save Starmer's leadership? It's the one thing he's got right, as he keeps saying, but that won't translate into votes in the May elections. It will make any potential challenger think twice though.

I think the War might lessen the blow to Labour in May.
The PM's stance has gone down well generally with Labour back benchers and others I expect. Some waverers (or those feeling disillusioned since the GE) may decide to stick with them.

Still think they will do badly. But perhaps not badly enough to mean KS has to go as a consequence.

Was canvassed by one Labour activist.
Had to tell her I wouldn't be voting as I didn't agree with the Photo ID rule.
Haven't seen anyone else around.
I probably wouldn't have bothered voting anyway. I don't tend to in local council elections.

Count Binface would get my vote if he was standing <ok>
