Don't say that it could happen and we'd get ripped off for Watmore just as we did for Pickford and then (injury prone)Williams gets crocked. That's Sunderland

    Not worth thinking about

Watmore is needed here for the long term imv to build the team around. Williams is looking good and hopefully if clear of injuries will be our quality midfield general (who was our last one ?) - from memory I'm struggling - Lee Clark ? Hoolio ? or way back to 70's Slim Jim, Tony Towers ??? EDIT :Bobby (the little general) Kerr :emoticon-0148-yes:
Anyway, hope its forward in the Carabao Cup tonight :emoticon-0148-yes:

I like Williams but if it's a choice of him or Watmore I'd always pick Duncan.

Williams' goal scoring record is almost non existent and we need goals from our forwards.

Of course it's a team game and I'm sure players in the first 17
Will most likely be used on the day
However it's our starting line up that Grayson has to perfect

I'd play Watmore out wide or up front. He doesn't have even close to the technical ability or touch to play the number 9 imo. Williams will be a cracking signing if we keep him fit. I think he'll quickly become one of the first on the team sheet and will be our 1st choice CAM, Honeyman and Gooch are the other two natural CAMs.

Fully fit I think our best side will be this.

    Steele
    Love----Kone----Wilson----Oviedo
    Ndong Catts
    Watmore-------Williams-------Macca
    Grabben

I honestly think McGeady will drop out of the team, I think Macca will become undropable, and I think Watmore's work rate and direct threat will edge it over McGeady as he just don't put enough graft in. Also think Love will win his place once fully fit.

All rests on the defence I reckon mate. If they can't get it together we need wide men who are willing to drop deeper. Like AJ and Lens, McGeady is very reluctant to drop deep enough. Where your Watmore's will chase back to their own touchline without giving it a second thought. McGeady will quick become a luxury we can't afford if the defence don't get their act together. Time will tell.

Agree with all of that except the Love thing - but mainly because I haven't really seen enough of him to prove whether he would get in ahead of Matthews/Jones (Matthews currently IMO)

McGeady is frustrating - cracking footballer - great passer and crosser, but looks like he doesn't give enough of a **** about it. Loses the ball and seems to say "Well someone else can win it, I've done my bit!"

I'm basing Love on the other two being ****:emoticon-0102-bigsm Love only has 10 starts for us and came very highly rated from an exceptional club. I think he'll come good like I think McNair will, Thing is Ndong and Catts are lot harder to dislodge than Adam Mathews and Billy '****ing' Jones.

Think McNair, N'Dong and Cattermole are pretty good for level we are in that position (once fit) Thought Matthews did OK at the weekend - nothing spectacular but solid

Yeh I agree ndong and catts will be hard to replace
However as I've said it's a 17 man squad on the day

What about playing McGeady in the middle? He's got the quality for it and is a goal threat.

Id be tempted to play Williams in place of Catts or Ndong in a very attacking formation.
Catts and Ndong have not been the dominant force i thought they would be so far this season. I cant wait till McNairs back fully fit ..

It would be great if we could get these injured players up and running
Give Grayson more to think about

Dunc's got pace and stamina to go with his work ethic/enthusiasm. I don't want to see him sold until we know how far he's likely to develop. Definite keep for me...
