1) A bad start to the season, and playing well the rest of it (finishing top 10)

or


2) a cracking start to the season, collapsing in the middle, and a nervy end (also scraping a top ten finish) ?

number 1 for me every day. a complete nerves free end of season would do me fine.

Please leave Bruce comments out of this thread, we've got enough threads about him at the moment....
 
Well just because one happens it doesn't mean the second part will follow. A lot of Sunderland fans feel it's a bad start to the season that could be followed by a collapse in the second half due to SB and team selections, more so last nights team selection followed but his blame shovelling - at no point did he concede, maybe I could have started a striker......some times you have to hold your hands up, that way you get more respect.
 
I just want a win, then maybe a few more,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Always thought it was mid-table for us..........
Now i'd prefer everyone to be unity and get behind the club......
 
Just because we are ****e now does'nt mean we will be good for the rest of the season. No wins plus no confidence mean we could be crap all season and follow West Ham.
 
In the Sunderland Echo, a certain manager admits that we may have a goal scoring problem, this after sending out a team with a winger as striker.

My preference is for a solid start that is maintained throughout the season, so I do not have to pretend all I need is patience and anything will be all right cos we are now like Everton!,
 
No 1.

I can hardly remember a good start to a season anyway. Remember Roy Keane taking over? Bottom of the Championship and already lost to Bury in the League Cup, if I recall correctly. Finished up as champions.

You never can tell and certainly not after two weeks...

I would prefer it if the team put in a performance week in week out that we could all be proud of - they dont have to win every week just put in the graft and show some quality - that goes for the manager too. This is what the best supporters in the land deserve. There were times last season when I thought we had got there - then we had all those injuries and lost Bent. Lets hope there a few surprises in store in the transfer market and/or that Bruce pulls out all the stops to make what we have work. It would be madness to sack Bruce now but I am sure he knows he is now on probation.
 
I firmly believe that if we went the whole season winning every single game, there would be certain people saying it's only because the standards have dropped, and that we are still crap really...<laugh>

For a serious answer to your question, for me it doesn't matter that much as long as the end result is there..Top ten last year was great, and if we can match or better that this season I for one will be well pleased.
