Given the fact that Moyes turned us down last year because he thought we would go down,I am somewhat confused!The fact that he accepted the job this time around he MUST have thought that we would stay up and guess that he was given some assurance by the owner that adequate funds would be available to strengthen the squad. If he was made aware that the budget was limited and that he could then not get the right players in because of these financial restrictions,it then begs the question why did he accept the job?
I can only make the assumption that our owner didnt give the whole financial facts to not only Moyes but to previous managers who have made similar comments to Moyes during previous transfer windows.Although in Moyes case I do believe he shot himself in the foot by letting the whole world know that we were in a relegation battle after two poxy games,that was a big motivator for the players and fans!
It however does not excuse the fact that with the money that was made available, was wasted on **** by successive managers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that if we get defeated by Hull at home he will be gone (should walk on his own accord) as that would be a disgraceful record. However if he gets 6pts from those two games people will be waving flags in the streets. Football is very, very fickle.

Agree with most of that though even if you get 6 points you will still be at least a point from 17th and probably more. Not sure that's flags in the street time.

I agree with the sentiment though, there's still time to turn things around.

Aye, I'm saying that I want Moyes to go but only if we get Allardyce. If he's not interested then we should stick with Moyes and see what relegation brings.

I am sticking with Moyes for continuity that we desperately need. We have a battle on two fronts of developing and surviving and so far everything is stacked up against us but losing to Arsenal was expected so I am puzzled why this game should bring on such negative debate.

I said before the match that we'd lose something like 1-4 so the score wasn't a surprise, but it's the lack of fight, the lack of team spirit, poor tactics and organisation, lack of everything that enables a team to win matches.

In your experience do these things turn around on their own? Do you see anything from Moyes and the side that makes you think we're going to start scoring goals and winning games?
 
I'm going with sacking Moyes but I don't see it as a short term fix. If we go down, there's no way the current regime will bring us back and we won't be an attractive purchase for any other owners. We need someone who can get the team fighting. Moyes cannot do that. He has shown no indication that he can motivate them. His tactics are wrong. We could have beaten West Ham if we'd taken the game to them. If we can stay up, we have a chance of the owner's interest being rekindled or of a serious new owner taking over. If we go down, we could be the next Leeds, Forest, Portsmouth. Something has to change and it has to change now.

Thats right we are loaded with too many players not quite ready and the experienced ones are out injured but Moyes cannot motivate - Sams signings are shadows of last season - he has'nt lost the dressing room he never seems to have had it.
The more of this discussion and the less I want Moyes to stay but who (Sam would'nt come imo )
Many repeated calls for Short out - replaced by who ??

BSA would have definately got more out of this current squad than Moyes is doing. The likes of Kone and Kazhri are under performing for example compared to last season.
Allardyce made 3 quality signings in january that basically kept us up. We lost only once in last 11 games and that was to to the eventually title winners! He inspired confidence and hope.
The way we are now with Moyes is pathetic. He is dour and offers zero hope to me.
Short must be tempted to pull the trigger surely...

Thanks for the loaded questions that would challenge any expert but I will give you an opinion. We competed well in the first half and early in the second half leading to the equaliser. Our players were encouraged to run with the ball but unfortunately Kazri and PvA did not combine very well and only Watmore was a threat up front. Januzaj had no stomach for a fight so was totally ineffective. There was always a chance we could hit them on the break, as we did, but passing choices was our downfall.

Had Januzaj made more impact then Anichebe could have been brought on but Arsenal turned up the gas and the result was inevitable.

Stark indeed but against all sense I'd stick with Moyes till end of Jan - but
lose our next 2 games and we may get a Short answer - it's getting me down this.

What loaded questions, I asked if in your experience a dismally performing side will turn it around with no change in management and if you think we look capable of winning games under Moyes.

Sounds like a no from what you said.

But I'm not looking at it from Moyes point of view. I don't know what he was told, I don't know what his interpretation of our situation was before he took over. Pointless trying as I've no idea what went on surrounding his appointment. I'm looking at it from my own view. The Moyes situation is just masking the bigger issues for me. It's all just patching over the real issues. The issues you can't solve with another quickfire sacking and appointment. Every manager we've had have said there's something clearly wrong at the club, they're never around long enough to find out for what ever reason. My guess the one man who quit, Dick, felt the problem was Short. But every manager since O'Neil has warned of a relegation scrap. Not just Moyes. Everyone has been right too, but it doesn't take a genius to know this squad is a relegation battle squad.

It's a mess mate. Lost all confidence in the club. I don't think sacking Moyes will do anything other than present a new manager with the same impossible problems, only have less time and it will have cost us a **** more money which we'll pay for with further under investment. Club's going down the pan I'm fed up with it.

Sack Moyes, get someone else, then leave the next bloke to drown in our turmoil, then we can sack him and move on to the next. We're not just a predictable club, we're reckless.

We have the same fragile mental implosion the Sam had to deal with like the Everton 6-2. What Dick had to deal with Leicester in the 4-2, What Gus had to deal with the 8-0 against Southampton, PDC with Westbrom and Swansea. It's the Same **** every manager has struggled to work out. Short of investing heavily and reshaping the squad with some quality leaders what can anybody do?
 
Short brought in a manager who was sacked in Spain, can we ever bring in a manager who has just won a trophy ? no. The list of players here who have been sold and not replaced by better is a disgrace, Gardener who did nowt wrong and who replaced him? the record breaking Rodwell hehe, Jones, Bent, Bardsley, Giacci, Alonso yes who played for Chelsea today, yet a manger at our club did not rate him ! the list goes on and on.

I think Sam can get the players feeling like they can actually win a game. I haven't fully determined yet how much of success in football is down to confidence but I know it's a lot and if Sam does anything as a manager it's get his team buzzing.

As I've said, get rid of Moyes and get some random manager in, then no stick with what we've got. Sack Moyes and get Sam back on a decent length contract and I think we've got a chance to grow. I don't see it happening like, it's something I'd like to see happen but I highly doubt it will, it's just a fantasy really.

What will probably happen is we'll go down with Moyes and have a 50/50 chance of not fading into obscurity.
