Absolutely. They were top as well iirc and we were struggling. They never won another game and got relegated!6-1 v Millwall Russell scoring 4 gotta be in there. Mad day that was.
Think it was Russel Craig who got the four in that game.6-1 v Millwall Russell scoring 4 gotta be in there. Mad day that was.

I was in the prem concourse for that, sunny day, crowd went mental. On the way out there was a pile of hours crap on the floor, my mate started singing and pointing at it singing Newcastle Newcastle Newcastle lolThere’s so much to look back on mate, even with the trauma, the highs are amazing.
Remember Chopra v Spurs, top of the league for 3 hours walking tall as ****.
I milked that mind.

Iirc Derek Foster made his first team debut in 19641st January 1972 v Sheffield Wednesday and we won 2-0. I remember being disappointed that Monty didn’t play but was very impressed by a very young Forster in goal.
Never realised he would have been that old when I first saw him play! Never knew he was sacked either!Iirc Derek Foster made his first team debut in 1964
It was our first game back in Div 1 after being promoted and Monty was injured and couldn't start the new season.
That first game which I was there for was against Leicester and ended in a 3-3 draw. Foster was only 15.
In 1973 he was sacked by the club for selling on cup final tickets allocated to him for the Leeds final.
Thanks for this mate. Been ages since I've seen it. Keano man, class. Because to him a 1-0 win at home to Spurs would be standard. I remember a last minute equalizers against West ham over the years getting the place going mental. We'll have those days again mate. Was a brilliant day that mate.
I was absolutely steaming by 5 and it’s all a blot after that, I just remember waking up the next day still glowing.
It was the way the goal came as well, actually a draw wasn’t so bad but it was one of them goals you knew was going in before it went in, and it was like a double win as had already accepted a draw.
Lovely stuff. Dug it off YouTube, look how vibrant the stadium us, look at the carnage when it goes in. We need that back man.
Love Keano’s cool as **** reaction as well, not sure I’ve ever actually seen that.

A 4-2 loss to Southend away, April 93 was mine. Stan Collymore scored after 6 minutes, then Goodman and Harford scored for us to give us a 2-1 lead in to the break. The second half was woeful to say the least.
