Wetsuit is mandatory in UK waters. Sometimes I can get away with a shortie in the summer, but only if the air temp is 20 deg +

The water is actually at its warmest now, when it's had the whole summer to heat it up. It's around 15/16 deg at the moment.

Coldest in March when it's cooled down over the winter, usually accompanied with cold air temps and N winds. Most of the guys here wear full winter suits, hoods, gloves and boots. Personally I can't stand the extra neoprene. So I'll surf shorter sessions, until I can't feel my toes !

I've only surfed a few times since I was a student.

But, I used to scuba and had my own gear. I gave up with most British waters though. Apart from the cold, you can't see hardly a ****ing thing anyway.

The water is crystal clear down here. Other than in August when the algae blooms and plankton fills the water, but that's fun because it brings the Basking sharks into shore.

diddnt bother watching the england game no doubt it was pants <laugh>

i done the smart thing, i smoked weed and watched gotham

Waking up to some long awaited rain. It has been about four months of solid sunshine and the reservoirs were starting to get low. No hosepipe bans though.

Just cycled this short loop 7 miles across coast path and the moors. I can confirm, it is raining ...

.. is that Bodmin Gaol in the distance? <whistle>

I'm around 50 miles west of Bodmin, go much further and you get wet toes.

Bodmin Gaol ceased to exist from around 1929. It's been known as Bodmin Jail since. HAIG nearly bought a nightclub back in 1926 at the Gaol though, they used to rock out to the Charleston and everything

Of to Spoons tonight.

Probably have a plate full of poorly cooked cheap meat and eight pints of ale.

Cam't wait, especially for tomorrow morning.
