You never know, if United manage to shift Nani I think there's room for him. I can see him moving to City, Athletico Madrid or maybe PSG.

PSG already have Pastore, Lavezzi, Thiago Motta and Menez for Sneijders position, Atletico is in deep financial troubles and ManC might only get him if Aguero leaves this winter. And ManU won't get him because they already bought Kagawa this summer for the midfield slot.

SAF has pursued Sneijder for 2-3 years, but at 28, he's probably too old to be considered now, And as has been said, Kagawa was signed in the summer. But then again, it depends on the deal, because he would definitely strengthen a midfield still relying on Scholes or Giggs for inspiration. 12-18 months ago, Inter wanted £35M for him. Apparently, he's available for a fraction of that sum, but I can't see many clubs being willing or able to meet his wage demands.

The wage reports that I've seen seem to suggest that he's on about £95k/pw.
That's a lot of money, but there are a ton of clubs that wouldn't have a problem with it. Boswinga's on more than that at QPR, FFS.

I am continually told that the Premier League is the best in the world and I get the impression that many players throughout the world want to play here. Well they can't all play for Man U or City or Arsenal and Chelsea can they. Unless they want to spend half of their careers sitting on the bench. This makes clubs like Spurs, Newcastle, Everton, Liverpool or even Sunderland and Villa, a very attractive option even without Champions League.

Kagawa has only played like two games for United this season, and it doesn't look like his knee will be better soon. ;)

PSG and teams like them with a lot of money don't usually think much about getting value for money or whether there's balance in the squad, plus you've listed players from totally different positions, PSG could conceivably play all 4 of those in the same team and regularly use 3 of them. Atletico would have the money if Falcao went, although yeah, it's a bit of a stretch. City don't want or need to sell Aguero but Balotelli could be leaving and Silva and Nasri have been inconsistent so I could definitely see it happening. As for United, Kagawa was predominently bought to boost their Asian marketability again after selling Park he could easily be benched for him and there's a few different roles Sneijder can play in the United team.

Yeah right <laugh>

To be fair though, he had always said that he was likely to return to Hamburg. But I do agree it was quite a shock when he signed for Spurs in the first place. I was quite worried that season when you had VDV and Modric in the middle, but you still finished below us . . and now you have Huddlestone and Dembele <whistle>

Irrelevant, and unnecessary wummery. Just as you USED to have RVP, Fabregas, Nasri, etc. your replacements aren't even in the same league.

No need to get wound up, I was paying a compliment that VDV and Modric were a good pairing for Spurs. I agree we've lost some great talent and not replaced it. I as I'm sure you would agree where Spurs have suffered something similar with losing those two.

Yeah, sure! Of course you were. I'm not wound up, I'm just wondering why you seem to feel the need to continually drift off topic, and indulge yourself in this childish wumming?

Sounds like you're wound up to me. I was agreeing with you that we've not replaced talent sufficiently either. Calm down and have another Sherry <bubbly>

Anyway, back on topic.
Snjeider, there are twitter rumours that he does want a move to England (I know, spurious sources) As was mentioned in the thread earlier, it was a surprise seeing Spurs sign VDV, and it wouldn't be the first time they've brought in good talent later in their careers, Edgar Davids and VDV are good examples.

If he does come to the UK though, I think it would be for Utd.

I'm very clm thank you. In fact I'm feeling very happy at the moment. Just watching Spurs demolish a hapless Villa. Oh look!....4-0 now!!...oh, it's a rather nice red wine!...

Sneijder's 28 and VDV was younger, I know Arsenal think that's retirement age but elsewhere that's not late in a career ;)
