Welbeck tore Real Madrid a new hole at the bernabeu 2 seasons ago.

He might lack goals, but he has an inhumane amount of energy and is also fast as lightening.

I'm very doubtful utd would let him go, and if they did, it would be a MAJOR coup for us.

I think he's a better inside forward than an out and out striker. We need someone who can play both, seems like the perfect Borini alternative.

I personally think, for his next move he should go to somewhere where he'll play as an out-and-out striker, he's stuck on the wing because of his pace and fantastic work ethic, but I think he could be a top striker, given the chance.

got a sneaky feeling we will get welbeck, rodriguez, sinclair and richards

but it is 00:15 and i'm on holiday with a fridge full of cans

We'll be lucky to get even one of them mate! Don't think we're even in for Richards and Rodriguez hasn't been linked for a few weeks now.
Wellbeck wouldn't even be a gamble...it's a no brainer which means we probs wont go in for him lol...
We desparately need to get shot of Graham to get him off the wage bill to help pay for a big signing...

This ^. Look at them all queueing up. We can`t even give him away.

How long`s left on his contract anybody know?

We're not getting rid of Graham lads. Who's going to take his wages of our hands? He's not going to take a pay cut cause he's a dirty money grabbing **** who already sold his soul when he signed for us for the money. Best we can do is loan him and pay a load of his wage every week for the privilege until his contract expires.

Still has two years to run Pops

I have a feeling he's gonna be part of the squad this year, because he was given a squad number, where the likes of Cabral and Diakite were not

According to a report in the The Daily Mail, Sunderland are considering a move for Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck.

The Black Cats' primary forward target was Liverpool's Fabio Borini who played on loan at the Stadium of Light last season, though the North East club have become vexed by a stall in the move for the Italian.

Speaking about Borini after his side's 2-2 draw with West Brom at the weekend, Sunderland boss Gus Poyet said: ‘It’s still ongoing. I can assure the supporters it’s not over.'

Welbeck was the subject of a £12m bid from Hull during the summer, though the forward decided against joining up with Steve Bruce. Nevertheless, he may weigh up what his role at United is looking like before the end of the transfer window and decide to move away from the club to get more playing time.

Welbeck has already enjoyed a successful spell on Wearside in 2010-11 and fans would undoubtedly like to see the 23-year-old back at the club.

If the transfer was to come off, then the move would certainly be a statement of intent by Poyet, especially as the club is short of striking options amid rumours that Connor Wickham may not be at the club for too much longer.
