Typical Longsight lad <laugh>

He can wire an amp and subwoofer up into a car boot in less than 30 seconds though!

He's thick as ****, seen him outside Nando's (keeping up with the stereotype) putting quid after quid in the parking metre, it just kept spitting his money out, nothing at all to do with the yellow tape wrapped round the machine saying it was ****ed though.

I once got elbowed in the face by a lad from Longsight during a 'friendly' 5-a-side tournement. The ref conveniently didnt see it.

Weren't a lot on here desperate to sign Welbeck after his loan ended?

I'd sign the lad up. Rather us get him than Hull.

I think he's a ****e striker, not a natural finnisher. Prefer him on the left. Not as good as Borini imo but he'd be a welcome alternative. Not for 14 million but I'd be happy to pay that in structured add ons that way if we pay top wack he'll be worth every penny. 8-10m upfront and the rest performance add ons.

I'd be desperate to sign him for half the price.

He's made no progress for years and the usual step from there is to start sliding backwards.

I've seen it with loads of young players, over the years, and it's painful to watch.

He's definately not 'Man U class' and never will be. I'd go 8 million max, for a player that wouldn't stand out even for the likes of is or Hull. As is so often the case these days, cheaper from abroad and probably better for that price.

To me Welbeck has always lacked that bit of steel, a bit of a nasty side to his game. He's too 'after you, old chap.' A great technical player otherwise.

But would I have him here - hell yeah! Get in there Gus!

How are these young lads expected to improve in big squads when they're rotated every bloody week?

They're attracted to them like flies to **** and end up spending half the season or more keeping the bench warm.

All these bloody agents see are the big bucks and the glamour of having a contracty with a big club. They dont seem to consider the long term interests of their charges!

Such a shame that a lot of potential is wasted.

A choice between him & Remy, at £8 million, would take me a second to decide.

Would not have thought Van gal would sell him !, he would be our best signing without a doubt if Gus brought him here, and I would pay £18 m for him.

Hull are ready to make a record-busting move for Manchester United’s England World Cup striker Danny Welbeck.

Steve Bruce will have to pay around £14million for Welbeck, who has been told his chances of first-team action will be limited under new boss Louis van Gaal just weeks after he started for the Three Lions against Italy and Uruguay in Brazil.

Bruce is after a replacement for Shane Long, who is a shock £12m target for Southampton just months after joining the Yorkshire side from West Brom in the January window.

And the Tigers' chief hopes Van Gaal will make a bold decision and cash in on Welbeck as he re-shapes the Old Trafford giants' squad with players of his own choosing.

Welbeck wants to keep himself in England manager Roy Hodgson’s plans, with Euro 2016 qualifying getting under way next month.

<whistle>

STEVE Bruce may use his links to Sunderland and perform a raid on his former club to fill a gaping hole in his strikers.

Steven Fletcher’s name has cropped up once again in The Times, just seven months after an £8m bid by the Tigers was turned down by the Black Cats.

Sunderland consider Danny Welbeck from Manchester United as Black Cats lose patience over Liverpool's Fabio Borini deal

Published: 23:25, 19 August 2014 | Updated: 23:25, 19 August 2014

Sunderland have expressed an interest in Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck as they grow increasingly exasperated over a deal for Liverpool's Fabio Borini.
Welbeck was the subject of a £12million offer from Hull but has opted against joining up with Steve Bruce.
The 23-year-old is weighing up what role he has to play at United but may attract more interest in the next few weeks.

The move from Sunderland comes after Gus Poyet was confident he would nab Borini from Anfield.
Their £14m was accepted for the striker who spent last season at the Stadium of Light.
Borini, though, remains undecided as to where his future lies, and Poyet, whose side kicked off with a 2-2 draw at West Brom on Saturday, said: ‘It’s still ongoing. I can assure the supporters it’s not over.'
