munky, since you choose to do this in public, I will do the same!

I am not happy at a NCFC supporter abusing another NCFC supporter, simply for holding a different view to you, and defending that view whilst agreeing that others were entitled to hold a different view!

I'll say no more now, I value both your contributions to this site, but bear in mind, resorting to name-calling will potentially lose us members, I can't make you like each other but I can ask you to use you ignore facility!

Sorry Dave, sorry ILD and sorry to anyone else who may have been offended by my heat of the moment post earlier just as I was logging off for the day and heading down the boozer. I obviously didn't think of the consequences at the time of posting, there was clearly no need for me to post that on here at all - regardless of whether or not I believe it to be true - and of course I totally regret it now so sorry once again.

When I can get wound up by a load of bollocks like this it's probably time for me to check out of here for a while - at least until the season starts - and let you lot get on with it. I'll pop in now and again but can't be arsed with it sometimes.

Dave you do an awesome job mate so sorry if I offended you, keep up the good work fella, I honestly don't know how you manage to remain so impartial and calm at all times, especially when you consider a lot of the absolute bollocks you read on here sometimes.

Excuse the french by the way, I'm about eight pints of Doombar and a Jack Daniels and Coke better off than earlier so I might be talking a load of old bollocks myself <laugh>

I for one don't like what it has become, but I still want to be part of the experience, so I will be, it will be my second Olympics, and probably the last I will be able to be part of, but what the future is for Olympics is quite scary it can't go on like this for much longer, who can afford to keep doing it bigger and better? Thats part of the reason I'm glad Beckham wasn't selected.

I think the commercialism is more this day and age and to be honest I don't blame him if he is earning a few extra bob to get more money. The MLS move is strange, in all fairness your probably right about. He went there to raise the profile of football over there and it worked but I think it was pretty money motivated as well. I think it's also him wanting to be the big player he has been all his career. If he went to Real Madrid to the Prem I think he would have probably not been very good and maybe a bit part player and that's not what he wants. Saying that he was brilliant at Milan.

I can only remember 2 Olympics, Athens & Beijing. Both also fairly commercialised so in a sense I don't know any different. But I have an understanding from seeing clips etc. that it didn't have all the sponsorship that it has today. Thing is would it be the spectacle which it will be without it nowadays?

You lucky bugger! Eight pints of Doombar and you can still type. I wouldn't be able to remember the alphabet after 4!
