Pardew's tactics my eye it was because we won the half time challenge
First half poor second half we came out and stuck to task again and yes that goes down to to Pardew he did get it right yesterday.
Pleased we have put the derby defeat to bed, and moved on with a win against a top team who on the day I thought were poor.

They might have come expecting a walkover after our last performance and weren't up for a fight.

Let's hope we can get more of the same now that they know how to do it.

Its not just the calamity of last week look At last season look at the liverpool game as a flash point.
I just refuse to change my views on him after one decent result.
He should have been sacked last season.
Agree we are light weight however he does not help the matter by every press conference virtual highlighting all of Our players are for sale for the right price.
Well over a year we have been poor
Players out of position, same lame Crap picked week in week out ala
Jonas just to keep jobs for the boys.
His inability to get up for games, a lack
Of passion from his players.

Its not really about changing your mind, its about giving credit when its due. He deserves to be criticised when he gets it wrong like Sunderland. He also deserves praise when he gets it right like Chelsea or Liverpool. Just a bit of balance fella.

For me it's all about having time to plan that gets success for Pardew. He cant react to changes during games or surprises come match days. Chelsea, Liverpool, Villa, Cardiff all played they're normal game, Pardew set out his stall, had a good idea how to beat them and credit where credits due that is decent management. The mackems was an unknown quantity. Pouet put out a side that was position ally a million miles away from the dicanio team he could have made a game plan for. He couldn't quickly formulate a plan that allowed a team with more quality beat a much weaker one, that's poor management in my book. Everton was as much down to individual error than anything else, Man City due to an awful negative attitude that was 100% Pardews fault.

I'd guess that he scouts the opposition and spends the week training the lads in a very specific way (allardyce and ferguson are big fans of this) which would explain to some degree the poor show last season. It points to someone who is an ok manager, good if everything goes their way, but weak if they have to be reactive or coming up with multiple tactics, the dreaded plan b.
