And think we should avoid becoming arrogant here. We're fortunate that Klopp is the type of guy he is. He didn't want a already establish and/or cash rich club, he wanted a project. We fit his wishes and he fits ours. Most managers (including Ancelotti it seems) would avoid us.
Not sure if by that you mean we are in danger of being arrogant?
It certainly wasn't what I was feeling, just that any major club stuck in the doldrums can be pulled out of it with the right combination of circumstances, and for rivals to dismiss the possibility as madness was just their bias, imo.

Top managers would fall into two groups, I think. There are those who just want to use a club to add to their own personal achievements, and those who are interested in being part of something ( I mean "project" here, but I hate that term:)), and getting their self -worth from making it happen.
Mourinho is a prime example of the first type- he wants a ready-made club that he can add to his trophy haul with and bolster his own myth. He spent the whole of the season before last whining about not having a decent striker rather than getting on with the job of getting the best out of what he had.
Let's hope Klopp falls well into the second group.

I have no idea why Ancelotti "would avoid us", as you put it. It would seems that Klopp was already lined up but we had to go through the performance of correct procedure in public. So maybe Ancelotti was never truly in the frame anyway?
