At last football is back again because the diet of International football served up gave me a bad stomach and forced me to drink more. Southgate is garbage and I believe the buffoons in charge of Scotland, N Ireland and Wales are even worse.
So its Saints this weekend and I have a problem because we already know we have regular starters Ayling and Bamford missing through injury but we may also see Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha missing too. How can you think the dice isnt loaded against your team? Yes Bielsa will find a way but with a reduced deck and when we are already chasing points it just doesn't seem fair. So heres one of the problems I have and this headline from a Jamie Carragher article:
Jamie Carragher blasts FIFA with Leeds United set to play Southampton without Raphinha
Fixture lists are being corrupted just because they took a bribe and we play a World Cup in December ffs. There is a real argument that says we should have shown balls and refused to play. Rather than the woke sanctimonious sports journos kicking off about Newcastle because of a Suadi owner. They were all quiet when Chinese money was flooding the Premier League and European football as the worlds biggest human rights abuser was buying Wolves, AC Milan, Inter Milan and many many more clubs across Europe and has money invested in more premier league clubs. Silence!
On the subject of Raphinha a good breakfast post today from Elland about Raphinha and from a £17m investment we now have a full Brazil International who has already created 5 goals and scored 2 in only his first 3 games. We always wanted to brag about having a Brazilian superstar, some like Wakey just fancied a Brazilian. We now have a world superstar on our books and he is covered by all the worlds top clubs. I hope he stays next season but if if he goes we will realise a massive profit.
That brings us to the “Plan” that we believe is based on Leicester City’s model. Think Jammy on the breakfast debate mentioned that selling one player each window for top profit means nobody else needs to go and that money reinvested in a couple of new top players….. i believe next summer sees us by a top worldy midfield player and another top forward. I see the likes of Ayling Cooper, Dallas and Klich starting to be replaced gradually by the likes if Shackelton, Drameh, Gelhardt, Summerville, Bate. These kids will be gradually brought into the frame over this season. I also believe that Sam Greenwood will want to leave in the summer as his chances of impacting the first team are slimming.
The new signings next summer will depend upon how the kids take their chances. For example why pay lots of cash for a striker if Joffy grabs his chance because if he does you have a potential top striker already on the books. Is Shaks the man to replace Ayling or is that Drameh, can Shaks or Bate be a top midfielder next season. Lets keep our fingers crossed because we already know Cresswell can replace Cooper, plus where do we fit Robin Koch, can Bate replace Phillips when injured but also replace Klich? I think how this season pans out will have a huge impact upon transfer plans dor next summer
