Couldn't get reception in France and it was killing me 9s but I always believed lads have a great night And no one give up
Absoluletly,I am hammered right now,but we have to believe. Our team is certainly not the best in this league, but with a lot of luck and a lot of hard graft we might just get out of this!
Just back from the bar and an epic win Finally we've twonked someone at last! Big shout out to Vegas Jon & Nipper for being at the Hawthorns today, hopefully i'll be back to see us win there next season Up the R's!
A great win today but one swallow does does not make a summer, I really hope they can keep the momentum going and turn Villa over, we owe them. Enjoy the night lads.
From the Baggies perspective (nice shot of Caulker's woeful defending for their goal):- Baggies undone by three first-half goals please log in to view this image http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/a...ays-premier-league-the-hawthorns-2376229.aspx ALBION fell to a 4-1 defeat against QPR in their Barclays Premier League encounter at The Hawthorns having found themselves three goals down at half-time. The Baggies were left with too much of a mountain to climb after the interval having been undone by a sublime Eduardo Vargas strike, Charlie Austin’s back-post header and a superb lobbed effort from Bobby Zamora during a first-half which stunned the majority of those present. The hosts rallied after the break and substitute Victor Anichebe reduced the arrears with a fine header, however Albion paid the price for their profligacy in front of goal and some slack defending on a frustrating afternoon as the R’s celebrated two wonder strikes. Matters went from bad to worse for the Throstles in the 83rd minute as sub Youssouf Mulumbu was given his marching orders for an elbow as he challenged in the air with Joey Barton. And it was Barton himself who rifled home a fourth deep into injury time, despite loud appeals for a foul on Gareth McAuley, to ensure it was an afternoon to forget for Tony Pulis’ side. Chris Brunt and Brown Ideye returned for Albion having missed the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City last time out due to suspension and injury respectively. Suspended defender Craig Dawson was ruled out while Jonas Olsson dropped to the bench, where there was a return for Claudio Yacob following his ban. Boaz Myhill safely collected an early Matt Phillips free-kick before Albion started to grab a foothold on the game, Ideye heading off target when well placed. But it was the visitors who broke the deadlock in the 15th minute when Vargas collected the ball from distance and unleashed a 25-yard strike across Myhill and into the far corner. Albion again came close through Ideye soon after as Chris Baird’s powerful low cross cannoned off his leg and fell inches the wrong side of a post. Yet the hosts were again made to pay the price as QPR doubled their lead in the 37th minute. Phillips’ corner was flicked on by substitute Niko Kranjcar, introduced for the injured Vargas, and Austin found space at the back post to nod home. And the R’s found the net for a third time before the break as Zamora latched on to Phillips’ throughball down the right to flick a sublime effort over Myhill from the best part of 30 yards, clipping the crossbar on its way in. Pulis introduced Anichebe for Stephane Sessegnon at the break in a bid to try and spark a turnaround. Gardner fired straight at Rob Green when well placed before Austin did likewise at the other end, Myhill collecting his effort down the middle. But Albion gave themselves hope in the 58th minute thanks in large part to Saido Berahino’s perseverance as he battled for the ball and won possession on the left side of the penalty area, crossing for Anichebe to head home. Ideye tested Green shortly afterwards as the Baggies turned the screw, Pulis bringing Jonas Olsson off the bench and changing formation to the more attacking 3-4-3. Ideye again forced Green into a save, this time from distance, before Berahino poked off target as he tried to redirect Darren Fletcher’s strike. Berahino was guilty of sending a close-range header straight at Green and Ideye headed over from Brunt’s left-wing cross before Barton compounded the misery with a late fourth goal for the visitors. Great day out. Do wonder why I bother with away games sometimes but a day like today makes it all worth it. Vargas got it going. Have people with quality like on the pitch and things like that can happen. Lng way to the otherend of the pitch so couldn't make out how it fell to Austin. Atmosphere was brilliant 1st half. Then when Zamora did that everything went nuts Half time no one could believe it. Nervous 2nd half in the stand rode our luck a bit at times but today was our day. Isla was dodgy at times but his and YSY overlapping runs were key to our success. Great energy from Barton and Sandro did better and justified his start. Icing on the cake with Barton's goal in the end. Hoping the confidence and belief is up for Villa. Squeeze a result there and everything suddenly looks very different. We've got enough about us to stay up but if not at least enjoy the day .
You're right Simon. Fink its time for the Mini-Mourinho's to stop their 3-2-1-3-1, 3-5-1-1, 5-2-1-1-1, 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 claptrap and stick to Countdown. Let the football people who know what they're talking about get on with it. 4-4-FU*KING-2
Any word on Vargas's injury? Typical of our luck, that just like the win at Sunderland, one of our key players gets a nasty looking injury. I really want to see Vargas start every match. He's a nuisance and a quality finisher. Given our shoddy squad, it's incredible that a proven Chilean international of his calibre has been overlooked for so long
Got home from work with no idea of the score...amazing! There is real hope. Another few wins and we will be just fine. I'm believing it can be done, which is dangerous, but so exciting!
Just back, give or take an hour. West Brom were bloody awful but this was our best performance for a long time. Nothing complicated about it- just a lot of hard work and players doing their jobs. Barton MotM for me- got the **** kicked out of him all game in what was probably an intentional ploy for him to retaliate but he was a positive influence throughout, totally made up for whatever work Sandro was meant to be doing and kept his passing mostly simple and effective. Phillips' best game for the club quite possibly too.
Yep, well done Swords. You and Paul have to make personal digs when everyone else is just happy with the great win. Pathetic! Ramsey is going for it and that's fair enough.
Just watched the whole game again, the live stream was not so good. We were very good! If we play as well on Tuesday we will win again. Beer is getting the better of me - good night!
Amazing result on cloud nine ..... But.... But .... Begs the question ..... Why have we not put crap teams to the sword as often as we should have ? Have we just been unlucky ? Have the players been in cruise control ? What's different ? The siege mentality I pray will scrape us across the line , just so many questions.....
Sorry lads but it makes me so cross that certain posters post negative stuff about formations and what players gone ... I stop at manager as Harold was dreadful We get in a new fresh coach and they want him out when it's bloody clear to me he knows exactly what he is doing Posters want players gone the same ones that wanted Zamora out and now sing his name I am certainly not wumming but I feel so passionate about our club that it makes me super cross when at last a result goes our way I always believed and feel it's the right time to unite the board into a positive place. When I refer to knobs it's collective not personal even people spin that ... This post is about balance You don't talk of relegation until it's happened imo That is a standard imo
