I very nearly posted something similar a few days back, but hesitated as I wasn't sure whether or not it was really fair to take out those 'exception' games?
I was left wondering if all clubs have similar 'exception' games and that, without those games their average goals per game is also really poor.
Irrespective, 24 goals in 35 games is dire, and once again nicely highlights the problem .... as does the past scoring record across our whole squad ... although it was a good post recently about chance creation being a root cause. Irrespective, has to be solved for next season.
I thought the same to be honest and it's definitely playing with statistics in order to exaggerate a point, but it does seem to be in the extreme to me.
Further probably dodgy statistics seeing as I've started:
We've scored 3 or more goals in the 5 games mentioned, in addition we've scored 2 goals in 3 other games.
That's more than half our goals in only 8 games (22 out of 40), leaving 18 goals in the other 32 games.
That's a smidge over 1 goal every 2 games.
That might be no different to an average team - I've no idea and I'm not about to work it out - but it feels poor to me.
