The best example of what you’re trying to say is penalties. At the moment penalties are a 0.78xG chance because statistically they’re scored 78% of the time. It doesn’t factor in who’s taking it or the quality of the shot it purely takes into account the likelihood of the chance being scored before the shot is taken.
xGOT probably weighs a bit more into what you’re looking for as it does factor in the individual shot quality which inherently probably does base itself on who’s taking the shot as a better player will probably strike is better.

They can't all have the same chance as some players are better than others. Need to add in who the keeper is too. Thinking on who is the referee? Some insist the keeper stays on his line others seem more leniant.

It’s just a way of weighing up the average shot chance without extenuating factors. Theres no way of measuring those things you’ve mentioned. It’s not a be all and end all but its a still a good metric
A bit like goals and shots on target are good metrics but they are also FACTS all this x stuff is just complicating things, gives pundits something else to talk about in a fancy fluffy way.
Goals are. Shots on target aren’t. A short on target from 45 yards out isn’t the same as one from 5 which is the point of xG

If I took a penalty against Panda he'd probably save it. If I'd taken a penalty against Theo I'd probably of scored.
Same with shots.
And then there rain, wind, state of pitch, distractions, etc etc.

I could do with that therapy duck they are taking into an American university to help them cope with the Donald winning again to help me recover. Failing that a session with a therapist helping Guardian staff deal with the trauma. Or, alternatively, think shut up brady, you soft twat.
