But we have played 5 games, so none of that is relevant other than the fact Middlesborough were 23rd after 5 games and finished 8th. If we are bottom 3 after 10 games then I will welcome the comparison with QPR, Rotherham and Sheffield massive. But we won't be.

Middlesbrough are the exception for recovering from a poor start, not the norm.

They did it back to back seasons, forest did it a few years back. It really doesn’t take much to be back up the table. Like most are saying next international break is where pressure kicks in.

A team needs to average 1.6 points a game over the season to finish just inside the top six. After 5 games and only 3 points that goes up to 1.8 points a game. That’s a win and a draw every three games. The longer our form stays this way the higher the required points per game will get.

To put it into context, an average of 2.1 points per game is usually what wins a team the league.

It doesn’t even take ten games for a great run of form to become necessary at some point just to get back in the mix. There are teams that do it, but the odds are not great.

We have five games to get 13 points if we want to hit the benchmark for a top six finish by the ten game mark. Four wins and a draw.

The points per game for relegated teams is around 1 or less. City are currently at 0.6. Two wins and a draw from the next five games are needed just to keep us above that benchmark after ten games.

I only looked because based on the screenshot Geo posted, I assumed he must got a big win today, but apparently not

I can see a beasting at Stoke and a point at best against Cardiff.
The lack of a decent pre season is starting to tell already.
Message ends.
Big Vern.

Took my daughter and niece to the Sheffield game.
Regardless of the result, they both were yawning towards the end of the game. This was the same with the Millwall game.

One or both will probably make excuses to miss the next home game.

I think that’s Tim’s biggest problem. I honestly believe if we had lost the last two games 3-4, Acun would be happy.
