Lovren is one of the worst defenders to play for Liverpool. There’s a reason why Lyon were shocked that they managed to receive £8m when they sold him to Soton.
The guy is a walking accident combined with the fact he’s completely deluded in thinking he’s a decent defender who has just been unlucky. I can’t wait for this guy to **** off from this club because along with the likes of Mignolet, he’s a loser who brings those around him down to his level.

Matip is decent but nothing special - he was just better than what we had previously. Now we have VVD, fans can now see what a good defender looks like.
Same will happen when Keita comes in and people will see what a quality attacking midfielder looks like.
I’m pretty sure we’re after a starting CB this summer. It would be criminal not to.

The discussion (between you and I) is purely about Matip. Jimmy (who hated Lovren before he joined Liverpool btw) as said Matip isn't good enough but nice twist attempt.
RE; the eight CBs... you do realise that you are using eight better CBs that play for our rivals right? And that since we are talking about a top six club, it is incredibly unlikely for the other fourteen sides to have better players?
I also pointed out how **** the PL is when it comes to defending. You comparing Matip to other PL defenders is like signing someone and claiming they're good because they are better than who we've already got despite that existing player being absolute dog turd!
Matip is slow in both pace and reaction time, he's not strong, he's not great in the air and he's not great at reading the game. I'd say a CB should excel in one of these areas. Matip can do most to a acceptable level but he's simply not good enough at any of them to be a top top player.
I never said he was ****, I said he wasn't of the standard we should be aiming for and that he'd make a good squad option (same for Lovren).
