We’ve been pretty poor defensively this game tbh, AB injury isn’t going to help. Hope Jurgen gets it sorted, a better team will punish us much more.
not sure he needs a pre season since he was playing in the ACON final a few weeks ago. Much rather he was rested & Brewster given a run out in a game like this.

The defence was a shambles from start to finish & TAA is getting caught out in the space he leaves behind him time after time.

He went through a period last year of doing the same, when hes good hes very good but he does have periods when hes just not switched on.
I dont think the midfield offered a great deal of protection for the defence either, fab was there and Henderson was up and down but I thought wini was largely anonymous tonight
I can challenge @astro to find some similar comments last season. TAA started slow then picked up late on. It is easy to forget he is only 20
Not too worried about the defensive performance, they'll get better as they start playing regularly again.
The subs were bizarre though, thought either or Keita, Ox or even Shaqiri should have been given 20-30mins playing time with the usual lads to get them up to speed rather than Milner or Mane. Odd.

Lovely start to the season! Relatively comfortable win. The attack looks very sharp, midfield grew in the game but the defence was really poor. Trent and Joe in particular - I do feel joe is lucky because I think matip should be starting.
I hope we see more of this bobby this season. Was way too inconsistent last season so im expecting a lot more. Today was one of those games where he was magical. MOTM.

Sounds like Alisson has done his achilles tendon from what Klopp just said, "he felt like something hit him in the calf", that is exactly how I felt/thought when I snapped mine pushing a car out of a ditch.
