Alisson's injury is a calf tear. Scan on Saturday will reveal how big it is. The goalkeeper is set to miss from 3 to 6 weeks of action. According to the Mirror correspondent David Maddock, Alisson will spend from 3 to 6 weeks on the sidelines after he injured his calf in the Premier League season opener against Norwich. Maddock writes Alisson's injury is a calf tear, with scan to confirm it on Saturday. "That’s very good news, as rules out Achilles rupture. Grade of tear to be judged by scan, but medic’s first judgement was grade 2 – so absence of 3-6 weeks (average of a month)," Maddock added. Alisson was forced off the pitch in the 39th minute of what turned out to be a 4-1 win against the Premier League new boys Norwich City. New signing Adrian replaced the Brazilian. He will also take the place in goal for the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea. Meanwhile, Liverpool are considering bringing in a new free-agent goalkeeper on a short term deal. According to This Is Anfield, one of the names on the Reds list is Andy Lonergan who helped us in the pre-season tour of the USA.
I think it's the way to go with Trent. He is still young, but he's got a reasonable amount of experience under his belt now, and I could be wrong, but I think he's probably stuck with those defensive frailties. Coaching him into a better defensive awareness could possibly impair his adventurous forward play. Better, imo, to have someone solid behind him - though quite how we'd set up then I'm not sure. Tbf, it is the nature of our game that we can get caught out like this, and Robbo is guilty at times as well - but he has such pace and energy he can usually recover. Plus he has Virgil next to him.
I don’t see it in a 3 man midfield. I think RB is his position and he’ll develop as a defender. Isn’t he on the UEFA shortlist for defender of the year? Not bad that for someone who ‘can’t defend’
I would keep Trent at right because he has the potential to become the best in the world in that position. He’s already close to that already. He was part of a phenomenal defence last season whilst being a pivotal part of our attack. He’s still only 19/20. Let him continue developing into that position.
Is that you Jurgen ? I am certain that is how he is thinking. I think he has said it more than once too To clarify I am not saying I agree I no idea at all
TAA will get better, but getting caught up the pitch is part and parcel of how he plays, if your to compare both sides of the team On the left we have Robertson, with mane and VVD offering protection. The right taa with Gomez/matip covering, occasionally salah may chip in. It's no suprise that opposition teams target one side over the other, it's a combination of players that make it weaker defensively rather than taa being weaker
I know what you are saying and I not disputing either option was just pointing out Klopp has said his plan for TAA is to put him in midfield My mind has been blown by a combination of offside rule and VAR lmao
It's the usually over reaction we see on this board. Seems we can never be happy, we have to pick fault with something. Personally, I think TAA stays exactly where he is, as does Gomez. Let them form a partnership that can be there for a decade. #ifitsnotbrokendontfixit
