That’s actually quite sickening. 3-0 flatters Barca massively. Not often the visiting side takes the game to Barca and dominate large spells of the game.

Game of fine margins. Semi proud of most of the team for going to Nou Camp and giving them a game.

ffs <doh>

No, nor can I :(

But score the first goal and get the crowd going, there is goals in this side. We may need 6 though <laugh>

I just can’t see us keeping them out if we have to play expansive football. That ginger cvnt will hurt us. That bitey cvnt ain’t bad either <whistle>

So it has to be 3-0 or 5-1

Doubtful but will be a hell of a game if nick an early one!

One thing for certain, Klopp will go for it. Just hope we make sure of the 3pts vs Newcastle.

Lol please elaborate ...

To say it flattered them "massively" is a ridiculous statement fella. You are one of the most tunnel visioned Livpl fans around.

They could've easily finished 4 or 5-0 and it wouldn't have flattered them. You played well, worked hard, closed them down, but didn't score. The End.

They could have scored 4 but then so could have we? Mane and Salah both clear cut chances, we should have had a penalty and Milner had another great chance.

Given we had even possession, even number of chances, even number of shots, id say it’s reasonable to say the scoreline flatters Barca.

What tonight highlighted further was the need for more quality up front. We rely heavily on our front 3 and losing bobby practically impacted our whole style.

They did. It happens regularly with us. I said to the lad I was watching before the game that it was critical that we took our chances because we can be wasteful. Mane, Milner and Salah should have scored or at least 2 of the three big chances should have been put away. That was the main difference; a pretty important one at that.

We didn’t play poorly, we finished poorly.
That's my point really. We won the game on "points", won the possession and the passes and almost "dominated" the famous Barca at their home. Sure. But was that the objective?. Its like someone giving a wonderful answer to the wrong question. Were we supposed to go to Nou Camp to give their team a game?

NO. The point was to survive the match. I would have accepted a 1-0 even with no shots on target or even a 2-0. We bring them to Anfield and give them a good game then and I was pretty confident we could have beaten them with the crowd behind us. Not trying to give them a good game at their own ground and get tanked 3-0. It could and should have been 4-0.

Not much difference to us tonight really, we had a keeper that threw two in and you had a centre back that stood and watched two strikers score people score. 3-0 was about expected.

We're had possession and chances so it didn't impact too much. Would he have helped prevent any of the goals? I'm not sure ge would.

Come on Jimmy. We've had opposing teams with 70% possession being deservedly beaten 2-0 or 3-0. Its all about putting that ball in the onion sack. Nothing else matters.

Maybe I'm being thick here, but I still don't understand what you would have had Klopp done differently. Their first goal was a great move, fair play, can't do much about that. Lets let that one sit.

But the second goal was riddled with bounces, deflections, crossbars and lands somehow to Messi.
The third was an absolute cracker of a freekick and I'd bet on no keeper stopping that.
What should Klopp have done differently to keep it at an 'acceptable' 1-0 or 2-0 defeat? Park players behind the ball? Start Origi? Play 4-4-2? Trent instead of Gomez? What stopped Barca running rampant as they do with most teams was because we had so much of the ball and kept them deep.

If we’d sat back, they’d have torn us a new one. Tactics were about right imo. Our finishing was awful and our ‘final ball’ was worse. We had a ton of space and procession in the final 3rd but did little with it. That’s not Klopp fault. Even if Salah had squeezed his chance in, we’d not be too disheartened.

The difference between the two sides was Messi and Suarez. World class finishers.

True. Although we missed his defensive work at that end of the pitch, and I do think we could have created more chances.
