If we've got a goal kick and Bobby stands in their penalty area whilst the opposition stand on the halfway line, the keeper boring it to Bobby is 100% offside.

I actually accept lino's ****ing these calls up more than other decisions because there is such a big distance between the ball and the players.

Cant be offside from a goal kick <whistle>

That's just common sense.

TBF, it doesn't matter what the rules say with goal kicks as it's never going to happen anyway. Bit of a joke rule.

Bit like entering the area before the ball as left the area after a goal kick. Doesn't matter who touches it, it's a retake. Means the defender can just touch it too early to get out of trouble

Aguero scored from an elders on GK about a month ago when he started in offside position. Think it was v Huddersfield?

I did see it and am happy we decided to bin it until they get it right which will be around 2050.
There's far more complex offside laws in Rugby union but the officials seem to get it right.Always baffles me how a sport with so much money in it cannot move forward with new ideas.First I'd deal with is back chatting to refs absolute disgraceful behaviour.

but still can't spot a crooked feed to a scrum to save their lives .

Yes, and it obviously refers to if the player is in a bloody offside position when the ball that rebounds off the woodwork is struck. Which he wasn't.
Jesus.

[HASHTAG]#called[/HASHTAG] it. he'll keep this up until the small hours now. As I c&p'd in relation to what he said, it most certainly does apply IF the player is in an offside position. Mane was not when Bobby played the ball. End of. Or not, in Diego's desperately lonely existence.

And when he made an attempt to play the ball before Firmino got to it, was he offside then?

I love it when everyone thinks they know the rules better than those who are employed to enforce them just because the decision goes against their team

No he's not, you turnip, or he's adjudged to have been interfering with play and the flag would have gone up as soon as Bobby plays it, not when Mane puts the rebound in. I love it when a thick person tries to quote an official rule book that they don't understand.

Because the officials got it wrong - is that a phenomenon you have never encountered before?

Indeed he has - when vardy scored that goal at anfield a couple of seasons ago when the goal kick never left the penalty area. he swore blind then that everyone but him didn't understand the rules, and that officials never get it wrong (they did). And don't forget the beachball goal at Sunderland - the officials got that wrong too.

Two seconds btw...

Doesnt that kill your argument? Hes a yard in front of the defenders and a yard behind the arse defenders who would have been busting a gut to get back (abd presumably being professional athletes will be faster than the linesman)

<laugh> Why was the "goal" disallowed?

Because a linesman didn't know the rules. You could be a linesman. Perhaps you'd have something to do in the late evenings, like studying the offside law, perhaps.

Them linesmen and refs who don't know the rules like you do eh, maybe you should try to get a job teaching them :emoticon-0100-smile
