I was just wondering how they only managed nine games against five clubs.
Their defeats against the others were at the beginning of this season weren't they? They've been on a roll since.
I think it'll be a tough game, but I expect we'll be up for it.
In this game they are likely to play like away team, though Unai Emery likes attacking football.
They prob ignored a draw somewhere.
anyway my view is like Bournemouth, arsenal have had it relatively easy.
realistically lfc have won 1 and draw 2 v top 5 this far. Arsenal lost their only 2.
the rest of the teams are just not taking many points at all off top 5.
we need to win this one.
The games against Man Utd only count as one because they only had to put in half the amount of effort?
Tbh the gap between the top 6 and the rest is getting bigger by the season.
Its hard to judge at the moment whether its because of the quality of managers (Klopp, Poch, Guardiola, Sarri, Mourinho & Emery) or the financial gap. It'd be a shame if this becomes the norm, though.
Last year it was big.
I think 3 things are important.
1. Fees and wages.
2. Stability. At least to Spurs, liverpool,city and even Utd. Managers on way out cost both Chelsea and arsenal last year. This year it could be Utd and spurs.
3. Pure ability. The top 6 have the top players.
Yes anyone in theory can beat anyone but we are really talking about the top teams taking about 8/10 points off the rest.
I was looking at 2017/18....and you know what Huddersfield beating Utd probably was the extra 3 points that kept them up. It also gapped city at the top and they never looked back.
I can see a natural time when managers leave and this current top 6 disintegrates into just a couple of teams and the rest again.
