No Karius was the kid that came in and started as number 1 at the start of the season. Migs trained hard and took back the number 1, and did very well tbf. Some of his performances towards the end of the season massively helped us get top 4.
Karius was in for a while but he was replaced by Mignolet who played okay for the rest of the season. I'd replace him but centre and left back positions are more urgent.
Kloppy thinks he's good enough obviously, I think he's an awful keeper personally but I do tend to be a tiny bit biased. Karius could do with growing a set to be fair, imagine where De Gea would be now if he couldn't take the heat back when he was establishing himself.
I think we take that title. There were so-called Leicester fans booing Ngolo when we played Chelseas away last year.
Yeah he survived the media spotlight at the time tbf. It is easier when you have decent defenders in front of you, mind. Migs is just average. Good shot stopper but flappy and isn't great with the ball at his feet which is a style we incorporate. To get better than him though you have to spend a good few bob.
Karius has a lot of potential. The season before we bought him he was (statistically) the 3rd best keep in Germany. He just didn't settle well so hopefully this season he can get more chances. I agree Mignlot should be upgraded, but tbh he's a better keeper than a lot of people like to think. We do need better though, keeper's have been a nightmare for us for years now.
Not sure why the top clubs aren't going for Butland, I'd say he's top 4 in terms of 'keepers in this league, at least. Think Pickford will do well at Everton too, big fee but he's a confident lad. Who do you reckon you'll go for as LB? I heard Moreno has had a good pre-season.
They (general fans of football) said the same about De Gea a few years back, but we showed faith in him. Klopp dropped Karius and wrapped him in cotton wool. How is he expected to come back from that? Ruthless and cut throat game this football innit.
He's got good reflexes and is therefore a decent shot stopper, but that's where it ends. He looks like a rabbit in the headlights in this league.

If they get Van Dijk they've got a very good first XI, but the squad is still very thin on quality beyond that imo. With the addition of CL football (assuming they qualify) I think they'll struggle as the season wears on, due to the way he has them chasing around like lunatics. He breaks players does Klopp he had form for it at Dortmund.
I wonder who Klopp will turn to if and when Barca remove Coutinho from Liverpool's ranks. I've heard he's putting in a transfer request imminently. With little time left in the window, it's hard to see them being able to attract a player from a top club. Maybe they'll go for Barkley
