Cricket, Tennis and Rugby are more black and white, football is very grey. Was always gonna happen.
They're also higher scoring games, than football, so individual decisions won't usually be vital.

It’s not just the premier league it Europe as a wholeCricket, Tennis and Rugby all use video etc to check on decisions without too much trouble.. how does the Premier League cock it up!
Thing is though
Sports you've mentioned are much slower paced than football a 3 minute delay in the above sports is nothing
In footy it's like an eternity
I was totally for it. Now it seems to be used wrong, and not like they did in the WC when refs checked the video themselves. There were always going to be teething problems, and maybe they can still make it work, but when you see fans celebrate, then get called back to wait for a few minutes to confirm, that totally takes the euphoria of celebrating a goal.
Was always against it
One of the best **** ups I saw was in the confederations cup as they were traili ng it
The ref sent off the wrang player even after looking at VAR
The problem being the English officials using it. No coincidence none of them was deemed to be of a standard for the World Cup in Russia, first time that has ever happened.
nothing wrong with the system accept the incompetent use of it by the English officials.
Need a team to score and do a non celebration. Score and all players just turn round like robots and walk back to the half way line ready for kick off. VAR has taken the passion out of football.
get shot of VAR i say.
Or my bootlace in the wind went forwardIt's bad enough watching it on TV, in the ground it must be a nightmare.
Can I celebrate that goal or was there a foul etc somewhere in the build up?
In that case the ball could be father forward than the bootOffside decisions are judged from the moment the ball is played forward, but it's a mater of opinion as to when the boot of the player passing the ball actually makes contact.
It's therefore back to a matter of judgement which was supposed to be a thing of the past.
... has replaced referees as a Monday morning talking point.
People used to discuss whether the referees had made the right decision, now they're asking the same questions about VAR.
In reality it's just another referee, under pressure, looking at an incident, and as we've seen, some incidents are less clear from multiple angles such as the Deli Ali handball.
In the studio the pundits are regularly disagreeing about the VAR decisions so what's the point of it all.
It just slows the game down and takes the fun out of goals ...
... a 3 minute delay to be able to celebrate a cup winning goal would kill the thrill for me tbh.
