I have been reading a bit of this. Trump having a wealthy Trump donor in charge of the post office doesn’t surprise me. What does surprise in the country that invented litigation for just about anything, allows a guy who has $30m worth of stock in XPO, a direct competitor, to run the PO and to effectively start dismantling it in an attempt to help Trumps re-election chances.
It seems in politics atm people in power are able to get away with anything and nobody can touch them. The legislature and legal system is considered an enemy of the state... or at the very least has been turned into something ppl can't be bothered with or have any faith in to right a wrong. The whole investigation into russian involvement in the last election, the subsequent impeachment debacle, all are just further examples of this. As you say, such a massive conflict of interest and no enforcement of the checks and balances you'd expect. The whole system in the U.S. seems impotent.
