Zionists oppress ordinary Jewish people as much as they oppress non-Jews.
Equating Zionist with Jew is like equating Fundamentalist Christian with white American, and then accusing anyone critical of fundamentalist Christianity with being anti white American.
Please, don't fall into that trap, as both brb and Herr Tobias have, because otherwise reasonable debate becomes impossible, and it is a pointless exercise for me to even try. At that point, I will retreat into wummery.

Incidentally, this is how Zionists use the (mainly Zionist controlled) media to deflect criticism and attack those critical of them.

Yes, I'm aware that anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism isn't necessarily the same thing. I'm also aware that criticism of Israel, it's treatment of it's Palestinian population and it's policies towards it's neighbours, often brings unwarranted accusations of anti-Semitism. You didn't just say "Zionist" though, you used the expression "Zionist overlords". Maybe you just expressed yourself poorly. What do you mean, when you use the term Zionist?

There are many Jews that have problems with Zionism, mainly going back to ancient texts that forbid them to set up an exclusive Jewish homeland. There are many Orthodox Jews who could be described as being anti-Zionist
Part of the problem has been this muddying of the waters where any criticism of Israel is somehow deemed to be anti-Semitic and the term Zionism is just lobbed in there without thinking about what it actually means.
HIAG’s use of Zionist overlords though is a lazy trope gleaned from reading endless right wing conspiracy sites, where Zionist bogeymen secretly run the world. The world is far more complex than that of course, but that doesn’t suit the conspiracy narrative
I had a really interesting chat about the world and conspiracy theories and all that with my mate the other day and he taught me some interesting things.
With respect to the "jews" run the world that our alternative posters post about all day, he was telling me that even though he doesn't think the jewish people plan on creating a master race etc, theres an element of truth in that:
Money runs the world
Banks own the money
Historically back in the day when religion ruled the world you weren't allowed to lend money to anyone with an interest charge as that was sinful. Jewish people could lend to people who were non jews which i guess is the beginning of the banking system and which is why it's mainly jewish people who own the banks (note it's the elites and not any old jewish person).
