Sometimes you wonder just what is going on behind the scenes. Having seemingly ditched the DUP, the PM is tonight reported to be in talks with Corbyn seeking Labour support for her deal that she cannot get past some of her own party.
 
I see that Raab has resigned. He surely had little option after his comments before he was appointed to the job. Like Davis before him he was sidelined by the PM. This is going to get very messy indeed.
 
It could be a house of card's.. All commentators are virtually saying it won't get through parliament... Then what??
GE or leadership battle. A new pm won't get any better deal.. And there is little appetite for a new deal. And the business sector will not allow it...

McVey gone as well now. The government is in crisis, splits within the cabinet, split MPs and a country split. Why should this be? We all know that it has come about through Cameron taking a terrible decision. It seems unlikely that MPs can unseat May, but if they did just who would be acceptable to the whole party. People like Mogg and Johnson have no backing apart from their small band of brothers. Meanwhile all around the world people look on in amazement as they see the UK trying to create more and more self harm.

Chances of this deal actually being approved in Parliament?

Feel we will either leave with no deal or there will be another vote .

Doubt May will last very long ..

There is no time left for negotiating a new deal Yorkie. The EU. would only grant an extension to the march deadline in the event of a general election, or if a second referendum were offered. The problem is that the Brexiteers have been assuring everybody for over 2 years that we could, in effect, pick the cherries from the cake - keep the things we wanted, and leave the rest. Apparently the EU. have 'bullied us' for not playing along with this. Apparently the German car industry was going to whisper in Merkel's ear and she would exert her influence to gain the best of all possible deals for the UK. None of this happened, and it was never going to - we have taken over 2 years to realize this, so why should the EU. drag it all out for more of the same. Many in the UK. have believed we were on a market somewhere, and the best deals were always to be made just before closing time - it was never going to pan out in this way. The longer it all goes on the more cancerous it all becomes - whatever is done, whether acceptance of May's deal (there is no other), a no deal Brexit, or a second referendum, should be done quickly. We need to get it all behind us as quickly as possible so that the reconciliation can begin.

The PM has lost members of her cabinet, she has clearly lost her party although would probably win a leadership contest as there is no one in a position to take over. The Commons made it clear that the deal she has brought back from Brussels was not acceptable, either to the hard line Brexiteers, or those who would rather not leave. Having received a real mauling in the Commons, she has turned to a press conference, and has effectively attempted to appeal to the people, going over the heads of the MPs. She tried this tactic before by going to the individual governments of the EU and tried to split them off from the agreed position. That failed in spectacular fashion and will fail again.
What we have is a constitutional crisis which will not be resolved until MPs have amended her deal, and made something looking very different out of it. She was asked if she was prepared to see the Tory party broken up, and didn't answer. It is a clear possibility. Time and again she refused to pass the deal back to the public, but it certainly moves closer.
 
A significant development tonight as Corbyn says that despite preferring a GE, which he will not get, the Labour Party will campaign for a second vote. Judging by the number of Tories calling for one today that could come to pass.
 
This is going to be an even bigger shambles that I thought it would be and I didn´t have high hopes.

Is this a sort of timeline of happenings from an ignorant bystander (me)?
  • Both parties for and against conning voters with muddled, minapulated mistruths before the vote on BREXIT;
  • People vote on that misinformation;
  • People get no say on how negotiators sort it all out with EU;
  • Get a sort of deal after ages;
  • Deal causes friction and rattles get thrown out of cots;
  • EU says take it or leave it;
  • Parliment squirms in the filth it created while EU has us by the balls.
Nice, democracy really works and doesn't just feed the egos of the rich beauracratic ****ers that are supposed to represent the people. Sad thing is I can't really think of another system that would work on a national level.
