That was wonderful, he was a very likeable character was John

Yes, I really enjoyed it as well. At one point in that clip I could see my front door to my flat on the White City estate and my old school Ellerslie too. Both no longer exist sadly. John Noakes was a childhood hero of mine, some of the stuff he did was both brave and frightening. Scaling Nelson's Column was one that comes to mind.

Sorry, just update my post as having not been born until 75 I looked up the wrong game score<whistle><laugh>

it was just used because of the 3 day week caused by the miners strike. I could also see the block of flats I grew up in

Cheer CB<ok> I wasn't born until 75 so unfortunately missed out on our golden era<wah>

I am aware of the energy crisis of the early to mid 70's so find this very interesting in a geeky kind of way<cheers>

Batman Close?
yes nines, but had left in 1970. At 1 min. 46 seconds my flat was just out of sight. We lived on the bottom floor next to where the laundry room was. Approximately 2 minutes to enter the ground. Now takes about 4 hours for the privilege of watching last Saturdays performance:emoticon-0106-cryin:emoticon-0106-cryin:emoticon-0106-cryin

at that time I was an apprentice and we were doing battles with the scum in the FA cup. We got a replay back at our place, but because of the energy crisis the game had to be played mid-week in the afternoon. They knew I was a fanatical Rangers fan and was told they wouldn't look favourably on me if I went. I did, we won and it was worth the bollocking:emoticon-0100-smile
