What brand of TV is you're choice, just asking for when I need to replace.

Whichever 55in is less than £50 on Gumtree.

I just bought a lovely LG for £50, with remote, yesterday in case mine packs up.

I've always thought that if you're taking note of the contrast, colour definition and pixels, you're watching the wrong thing.

LG for me as well.
Get something from Richer Sounds, free 6 year warranty.
I bought an LG from them in 2015 and it developed a fault in 2020. They arranged collection, next day called to say it was beyond economical repair, to pick a new tv to the value I originally paid. Picked a higher value one and just paid the difference. They delivered it the next day.
Can't fault them.

Did it come in kit form and you had to glue it all together and paint it <laugh>

I haven't done one for quite a while now.
I've got bloody loads there to do, maybe around 25-30 or so, just not getting round to doing any.
Daft thing is, I'm constantly looking for the "next one" to do...which will then end up in the cupboard with the rest of them.
Need to get myself motivated to start one.

Bought LG 65C eco OLED earlier this year. Cracking picture and no back lights like an ordinary LED which was the end of my old Samsung 55 inch. Spoke to guy in Curry’s about reliability and they had fewest returns on the LG tvs. Hisense have some cracking reviews on picture quality and come in a lot cheaper but reliability is poor (maybe they could sponsor Poveda?)
Pick your time when going to buy if you can, found mine dropped around £1k over the year before I went for it.

Any advice welcome

I had a Samsung, but just after the warranty ran out it started playing up taking longer and longer to power on. They came out and fixed it free of charge because it was a known issue with the capacitors on the power board. It was fine after that.
I now have LG though :emoticon-0103-cool:

55" Sony for front room.

50" Panasonic in bedroom. Purely for watching footy if she is watching something she likes/wants.
