Quite a bit!
Bacon is from the back or belly of the pig.
While both a ham can be taken from the hind or front quarters. gammon is the hind quarters to (hence it's name) but usually brined.
They taste significantly different too! then theres what you cure or smoke them with.....
My sister boils a ham then roasts it for Chrimbo dinner. We have turkey crowns too, but the ham, to me, is the centre-piece. I took some home to York with me a couple of years ago, and the bastard dog got it, still wrapped in the tinfoil. He was crapping bacofoil for days (vet gave him some tablets). ****.
Roast Gammon joint for Boxing Day dinner every year, there's always some left for sarnies on the night or the next day.

Yeah ...Ham boiled then stuck with cloves continually basted with a heated marinade mix of honey, brown sugar, dijon mustard and pepper while being roasted? awesome...best part of Christmas dinner!
Have you tried Jack Daniels glaze? The first time I tried it was at TGI's who do a menu - salmon, burger, chicken strips etc. all done with the glaze, delicious. You can now buy the glaze in bottles in 'all good supermarkets' - give it a go, and I don't even like whiskey

I've tried ham soaked in coca cola overnight, it was nasty, might have been better if it had been JD and coke though.
Yes, like nothing I've tasted before and as I said I don't drink alcohol at all so it took me by surprise just how nice it is.

Another delicious glaze for ham - maple syrup, also maple cured bacon but only if you like that sweet element.
I know about the coin in coke etc but it was when I was staying in Texas, loads of Sherman's eat ham that way.....apparently.

When we were in the US there was always a jug of maple syrup on the breakfast table. When in Rome and all that ... tried it poured over bacon, sausage and actually quite liked it. Bread is sweet, don't like that. Also McDonalds biscuits and gravy ????
