Yes, odd how you seem to not apply that across the board, after all, I replied to a post implying all of the working class people on here are xenophobic bigots. The "populist" implication certainly included me, even though I am not living in Britain. Unless I missed all of your posts complaining about the "rudeness" of others You missed that bit huh
I rarely if ever see anyone call people the names you use like ******. oh and your prior argument... if we were thought police I could have got one button and sent a complaint and got you banned or could permanently just thread ban you. but I haven't habe I? oh don't seem to get you are actually stifling debate hete.
That's because gender dysphoria is (in the vast majority of cases) a mental health condition. Try having that discussion with "liberals" and see how far that gets you.
I think it's generally not considered a mental health condition now... How much of that is down to bring politically correct I dont know. Does it really matter if it's a mental health condition or not? If a man wishes to live as a woman or vice versa (mental condition or not)... Why not? Who are they harming? It's like the whole "born this way" mantra of the homosexuals over the last few decades. Does it really matter if you were born that way or not? Its a pointless sidetrack. Fact is it doesn't matter if theyre born gay or not... Why should it matter? Doesn't matter what made them gay... Whether it being born that way or catching gay cooties from a gay guy sneezing near them... Who does it hurt if gays and lesbians have gay sex? No one. Being born that way, "it being a mental condition they are born with" or not makes no difference. Live and let live. Back with trans foke...who cares if being trans is mental health problem or not? Does it really matter... Just let people live. There are no victims.
Must say, I am disgusted by that whole guy getting his dog to react to Sieg Heilbronn video. As tasteless as the joke may have been to some, that's not freedom of speech to fine someone for making a tasteless joke. Whereas racism is obviously a bad thing, I really don't like the direction taken by Britain that fines people for making racist statements. Anytime you have censorship of what can be said, you have someone or a group of people who get to decide what can be said. That's really not a good thing for a democracy.
i think Sisus issue is about kids wanting to live trans and getting the hormone therapy for it You wouldn't let your child decide at 10 that they wanted to be a chavvy manwhore/slag and sleeping with anyone. Why would you let your child decide to permanantly alter themselves when they aren't ready/to understand complex concepts.
I don't have an issue with anyone who wants to or has done it, it must be an awful situation to be in until you finally get to be who you feel you are. I do however have an issue with both the normalisation and treatment of the condition,
yeah it's tough to know whats what there. a) freedom to say and start abusing minorities v b) state (not.society) suppression of undesirable statements it would be much simpler if people didn't even think to abuse minorities but in the absence of that social norm should be it's really not acceptable to do it but not the state forcing it as then all you need is state deciding other things are not acceptable etc. like me muh ha ha apparently.
I largely agree on the basis that although depressing it allows you to see clearly the scum in society and as a govt just how much work you still really need to do on education rather than sitting smug thinking the jobs done. Although stretching the 1st amendment thinking has negative consequences too. Take the Texas appeals court ruling that posting revenge porn vids/pics is not illegal as it's protected by freedom of speech. It's the age old freedom vs consequences of action.
With kids I find that a very delicate subject and I'll say I don't know the correct answer. Most men who become women say they knew they wanted to be female from an early age. I agree, that's too important an issue for a child to decide upon though and my gut says it shouldn't be done early. However, I do at the same time recognise that if one is to transition it is much more successful if done young, especially before puberty... So delaying it harms the child's chance at long term success in transition. Meh... I'm on the fence on that issue. I think both sides have very strong arguments. I think that is an case by case scenario.
To me that isn't about speech that's about consent. Posting videos of yourself... That's free speech. Posting sexual content of someone else filmed in a private setting without their consent. That's sexual exploitation.
On the trans or any minority issue I'm all for live however you want. The minimum and maximum however should be equal treatment under the law. As laws literally cover everything from work place to housing you are protected. After that it's about vigilance that the law is being adhered to and enforced by the state. Anything above and beyond that is positive discrimination which is just pressure group speak for ..... more discrimination just in our favour this time. Remember the past injustice but that doesn't mean punishing largely innocent members of current society by going completely the other way as recompense for faults of ancestors. There also has to be a recognition that state funding is not equal... govts have to make decisions based on benefiting the most people without discriminating directly against a minority.
