Yes he is worried about the mid terms thats for sure but the attempted insurrection five years ago should make any right minded person fearful of what that madman will do to secure a third term!He and his supporters will do what any despot will do when they lose(or fear that they will lose) the democratic vote ,they will create some sort on national emergency as a pretext to get troops on the streets and declare marshal law and the rest is despot 101.The USA is a very divided country and im sure he will attempt to take advantage of that to his own despicable ends.

It feels like Trump is thinking 'If it's alright for Putin then why not me' ?

Brilliant from Gavin Newsom, California Governor in Davos....

Its time to get serious and people have got to stop being complicit. It's time to the stand tall and firm have a backbone. Just I can't take this complicity.

People rolling over, I should have brought a bunch of knee pads for all the world leaders. I mean, handing out crowns and handing out..., I mean, this is pathetic Nobel prizes, they're being given away. I mean, it's just pathetic, and I hope people understand how pathetic they look and the world stage, I mean, at least from an American perspective. It's embarrassing, but the Europeans should decide for themselves what to do. But what then they can't do is what they've been doing. And they've been played. Trump is playing folks for fools.

And it's embarrassing here, this is diplomacy with Donald Trump. He's a t-rex you mate with him or he devour you. One or the other. Europeans could be if they continue to look and down this path or process, they need to stand tall stand firm, stand United, wake up. Where the hell has everybody been?

Then stop with this @@@@@@@ diplomacy, sort of nicities. And somehow we're all going to figure it out. Some (Macron) say one thing privately and another publicly, perhaps have some spine.

After the events of the past two days and his two faced approach about Greenland voting on who the want to govern them while not giving the Chagosians the same rights, Starmer's well and truly feck ed now. He looked like a man who doesn't know where to go or which way to turn from here.

As a Labour man I hope he does go and takes his fellow digital id zealot Darren Jones with him.

Trump speech at Davos lists all his grievances... he wants Greenland as payback for decades of USA supporting the world. Interesting to see how this pans out
