There is nothing, not one excuse for what Trevor Sinclair has posted tonight.

He should be sacked immediately and never been heard from again
I said I don’t think he should have posted it. You’re very emotional about her death, me less so m, it makes very little difference to my life. I’m just saying this is where the thinking may come from. No excuse for Prince Phillip mentioning slit eyes or spear checkers either. Won’t endear him to people and of course like any associate making cringy comments if you say nowt you get associated even if you don’t agree.

Phillip was renowned for making gaffes and putting his foot in it, yes. He was also known to be a very personable man who tried to put people at their ease when meeting the Queen. One of the ways that he did that was by making wise cracks, and it must be remembered that he was from a time and generation in which making 'humorous' remarks based on stereotypes wasn't as verboten as it is today. To construe that as racist jokes, I feel, is inaccurate as it implies hate or fear, which wasn't present.

One of the qualities that the Queen, and Phillip, stood for was tolerance and an understanding that because someone's world view isn't the same as our own, it doesn't make them bad people. That understanding is sorely missing in the world today.

I think if Trevor Sinclair sought to truly understand the Queen and what she, and the Royal family, stood for and believed in, he might rethink his tweet.

If nobody checks them how would we know they work

To be clear I don’t think he should have done it. He’s too much of a numpty to get the nuance. It’s attention seeking. Just surmising why there might be that line of thinking because some of those comments he made were facts. We’ve all had inappropriate uncl s making cringy comments. Doesn’t make it right. To be fair there is a narrative about what the royal family stand for because that’s all it is. People go on like they were best mates with them. We can all only judge whether we buy the public face they display and accept the institution and I know me and you disagree on the latter which is fine. Being really honest I was more bothered about my dog hurting his paw yesterday because that’s tangible to me. To her family and those close of course it really matters.

I guess the Boris thread went quiet.

He seems quite irrelevant now doesn't he.

The Queen clearly had all of the things he lacked, honesty, integrity, sense of duty, etc.

Above all else she didn't just want the title, as Boris did imo, she actually did the job and put the hours in ...

... and hung onto the job for more than five minutes <laugh>

I meant certain individuals coming onto this thread to get their fix of arguments

The worldwide outpouring of Grief speaks volumes, from every country no matter the colour or creed, she was universally loved and respected.
She will get a send off never seen before, not because of what she was but because of who she was, Our Queen, A Mother, A Grandmother, An Auntie an Inspiration to us all, yes she made mistakes but she was always gracious enough to accept she maybe got things wrong. I have yet to meet somebody who doesnt do anything wrong in life let alone during 70 years on the Throne.

Well said mate i couldn't have put it better, as all ex soldiers and those currently serving, it was a thrill marching in full dress uniform for her pleasure on big occasions, may her soul rest in peace

It was only when I saw pictures of Elizabeth with her husband that I thought where the thought behind this tweet may have come from. Not saying it couldn’t have waited till beyond today like cos she’s just died but Phillip was known for racist jokes was he not? I don’t watch or read the everyday stuff about them but people have said it about him.
Can’t resist bringing your left wing political s*** in to this could you?.Just wait till her state funeral and the whole world will show how valued and loved this monarch was,and hopefully keep people like you babbling on to a minimum

Fine to disagree

To be fair, the Queen did rule over a democracy and we're all entitled to our opinions ...

... I don't agree with them all but I don't get to decide who posts and what.

Besides, this thread isn't specifically about the Queen, just a sad little attention seeker.

By and large people have been very respectful but some cant resist spouting their bile, they have no respect or class.

Is it bile?

As far as I can see he's offering up a possible reason why people like Trevor Sinclair might feel as they do.

Prince Phillip did say some things that posters on here would be jumped on for ...

... being married to the Queen doesn't exempt him from all criticism.

It is bile, how can a picture of The Queen & Prince Phillip make anyone think they know where Trevor Sinclair is coming from. The tweet in itself was pure bile
The 1st thing I thought when I seen the tweet was what an insensitive ****er, seeing pictures of The Queen & Prince Phillip and that tweet pops into his head is pure bullshit. He has seen an opportunity to spout bile and jumped on it.

Oh and thinking "**** you you black racist twat" is racist and the fact that's where your head went? Very telling. But hey, you have previous on this and other topics and many know you for who you really are so crack on.

He's black, he's racist and he's a twat.

That's quite accurate I'd say, definitely not racist.

Fair enough mate.
