Good to see Neil Harris repaying loyalty, this is the sort of thing that is important in a club, and something NH himself will strongly believe in. Although have to say I was really impressed with Jake so wasn't overly worried in that department, but at least it gives the two keepers chance to compete, and Harris great options to have.
He does, I'm going to find it extremely difficult to defend Neil Harris now, if we don't pick up points lol
I just come to say he had left the club, you beat me to it. Have a listen to this from Nigel Clough, especially near the end, not often you will hear this of Gillingham, 'but this has gone on a different level!'
There are rumours we are after a Posh player, Jack Marriott, don't know if it's true but the fans are getting extremely excitable on twitter lol.
I am gutted to see that Turner who has played a pivotal roll in between the sticks recently, may just be dropped for the return of Morris WTF
It's an interesting one for sure, I was really impressed with Turner against Leicester - personally I think he should keep his place until such time he does something wrong, unfortuantely I'm not the gaffer.
Wonder if Green has played his last game under Harris. Looks like out of favour. Hopefully only loaned out rather than got rid off. Was best player beginning of season.
DollarBillsInTheBlood @GillsInTheBlood · 19m DONE DEAL: Some more much needed creativity has today been added to the squad with the arrival of Mansfield Town midfielder @GeorgeLapslie. The former Charlton Athletic man has joined for an undisclosed fee. Welcome to the club.
and another... https://www.leytonorient.com/news/2023/january/19/ethan-coleman-joins-gillingham-on-permanent-deal/ https://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/2023/january/gills-sign-ethan-coleman/
A friend of mine follows King's Lynn, and he rated him quite highly when he was there. You might have a promising player there.
I 'm happy with the signings so far.. They indicate that Galinson is buying into the footballing side of the Club ( rather than a property development scheme )... I can see that some of the new players are with the 'long term' in mind. I am pleased that Harris recognises a need for another centreback (( with Masterson hinted. )) ... Against Colchester, Ehmer almost cost us a certain goal - and, whilst he has 'improved', he ( imho ), is a weak link -- and had to be bailed out by Wright.... Ehmer is not one for the future..... and neither is Morris ! ...... Now - don't shoot me ! I put Glen at No. 1 in the Star Player thread...... Morris did well v Colchester (( although I am not comfortable with his ability to 'command' crosses anywhere near his gaol l line. ))..... Morris is too old and doesn't have a great physical presence... He will do a job until the end of the season - when I hope that Gills will look to replace him... ( sorry, Glen. ) I have been pleasantly surprised with the improvement in Tutonda - and, maybe he can be a LB at League 1 level.... but - we definitely need a 'proper' RB .... For all the passion & commitment of MacDonald, and the abilities of McKenzie, neither are Right Backs.. and v Colchester, MacDonald, in particular, struggled (for pace ), against the trickery of Col U's No.20..... and against superior quality, Gills may have been tested ,more severely in the RB department....... but - all THAT is probably for the Summer.... For now, I am fairly confident that the new signings have transformed ALL the squad - and hopefully will do what is the main objective in the next 20 games.
I only have one question regarding the transfers so far, and that is why did the 23 year old Jake Turner lose his place to Glen Morris for the Hartlepool game? I genuinely don't get it.
