Stoke are ready to offer Xherdan Shaqiri a clause in his contract which would mean he could leave next summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Potters are keen on the Inter Milan midfielder, and the Italian paper claims they will give him the option to leave if a Champions League team comes in for him at the end of the season.

Next season with hopefully Bojan up and running, two wingers, plus this new Spanish striker....KEEP N'zonzi and take a punt on Jordan Rhodes.
Just maybe he could turn out better than Austin/Ings...given the opportunity.

Would Shay Given be able to do a job at right back or as an attacking midfielder / winger , or a Nzonzi replacement ? Are they expecting a lot of goalkeeper injuries ? Or is Butland also to be sold.
I warned some time ago that we are going to be a lot weaker next season as a squad. And as of today who could gainsay me ?
We desperately need to splash some cash on those weak positions , and we should do it soon before all the best options are gone.

Sky sources report that Chelsea are close to signing Bosnian international goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Stoke. Stoke will not allow the 28-year-old to leave until they have completed the signing of Shay Given from Aston Villa, although that deal is expected to be completed on Friday. Chelsea favourite Petr Cech acted as deputy to number one goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge last season but the experienced Czech international was sold to Arsenal last month.
And Begovic, who has just a year left on his Stoke contract, now looks set to slot into Cech’s role in the squad, with Dutch midfielder Marko Van Ginkel moving to the Britannia Stadium on a year-long loan as part of the arrangement. England U21 international Jack Butland is poised to take over from Begovic as Stoke’s first-choice goalkeeper, with the 39-year-old Given also competing for the jersey if his move goes through as expected. The hugely experienced Republic of Ireland international completed a medical at Stoke on Thursday but has yet to finalise the terms of his release from Villa.

Inter Milan forward Xherdan Shaqiri has reportedly accepted a move to Schalke 04 after snubbing an approach from Stoke City.
The Swiss international, who only arrived from Bayern Munich in January on loan with mandatory option to buy for €16million, is not thought to be part of manager Roberto Mancini’s plans at the San Siro.
Having confirmed the arrival of Glen Johnson to the Britannia Stadium, manager Mark Hughes has revealed the Potters have withdrawn their initial offer for the Shaqiri and that he expects Asmir Begovic to leave for Chelsea.

Not so sure about Johnson, I 've not seen much of him lately and he used to be good at going forward but failed big time in his defensive duties for me.
Despite the new aquisitions , because of the loss of Begobitch and Nswinezi , we are as at the 12 July '15 , a weaker squad than when we walked past Liverfool.
