It’s exactly one year now since the SMT spoke in public about their risible 8-8-8 strategy. I know that, because I’ve still got the text from another Charlton fan congratulating me for skewering James Rodwell on Charlton TV that same night.
Remember the reaction of Seriously Red & Mundell to 8-8-8, how Mundell purred & stroked his chin and assured the Intellectual Lower Classes that this was all so very reassuring, and sensible.
We don’t hear much about 8-8-8 these days ??
How many Academy players have improved in the past 12 months ? They were already gifted Leaburn on a plate.
How many of the promised 8 elite players have they signed ? To the contrary, they’ve allowed our best three players to leave, and struggled even to replace them.
Im starting to think that 8-8-8 in reality meant £0-£0-£0, as in how much these charlatans would actually be investing in a team capable of promotion.

That said, Lloyd Jones had a rare bad game yesterday & he’s the best of a poor bunch.

Signing Lloyd Jones on a new deal will be held up by the SMT as a new signing.
But IF he signs a contract I reckon it is only to enhance his value and sell him in the summer.
