Charlton Life’s resident bluebottle @ElfsborgAddick told me a week ago that stooge Dubai would re-emerge with some Methven porkies this week. He was spot on.

Taylor - the League One Pirlo - has joined the mighty Northampton Town on loan.

That’s three of the lesser lights out.

About time this clueless tight SMT bought us a player or two.

I don't want any one coming in unless they are good enough to go straight into the first team on merit and stay there. No point swapping one squad number for another.

We need a couple of players with a bit of X factor who can make an impact.

This time last season Andy Scott signed us Bakinson & Fiorini, so the omens are not good.

Assuming Walsall and Northampton are picking up 100% of the wages, I reckon the SMT have saved about £8,000 a week >> £32,000 a month so far in January with the 3 outgoings.

I doubt we are signing a Championship player based on those figures.

To read some of our fans on social media today, you’d think we had given a loan to Terry Butcher at his peak, not Terry Taylor.

TT - 13 app for CAFC, one goal, one assist.

Basically he’s not good enough, but some still think he is because his name is not Allan Campbell or Luke Berry.

I think we can safely hibernate this thread

Both Methven & his sock puppets repeated tonight no spending in January … just “a couple of tweaks” to the squad.

    Managed decline.

Six figure salaries for men who are sleep-walking CAFC to it's grave as slowly as they can while they line their pockets.
What the current SMT are doing is no different to what Matt Southall did.
They are just less crass and obvious about it.

If Charlton Athletic was a dog, it wouldn't be coming back from it's next visit to the vet.

I can't agree about Southall. Remember it was he who separated club from assets then lied about having bought it "lock stock and barrel". Before that we were relatively safe, Roland had to keep us going for his own finances, now he's happy to get us out of The Valley. If Sandgaard hadn't intervened there might not even be a Charlton now. Remember the transfer embargo? We were actually doing quite well before that with Duchatelet giving Bowyer the tools to work with. Then Sandgaard messed up, and by the time this lot took over we were a sinking ship already. Having Andy Scott in charge of recruitment scuppered any chance of a revival and here we are today, with the clock ticking down. If the club does go under it will be ESI who delivered the fatal blow IMO.

We'll have to disagree about that.

It was Duchatelet who split off the Club and sold if for £1.
He's the one who wanted the land for future redevelopment.
Southall was just a crook in the right place at the right time. A useful idiot for Roland.

But it's done now. No way to undo it.
SE7 are certainly not going to restore Charlton Athletic.
They are just the latest in a long line of chancers and low-lifes feeding off our misery.

The new owners are nothing like Southall. He took lots of money out of the Club and didn't put a penny in. These owners paid 14 Million and also covered the losses of between 8 and 10 million. Per year. Yes I would like them to spend more on the team but it is always easy to spend other people's money.

They are not the latest in a long line of chancers. Why do you think they are feeding off of our misery? They are billionaires who are pumping money into the Club to keep us afloat, they are not taking money out, how does that make them chancers?
It is the SMT I have a problem with. Methven is a silver tongued weasel and Rodwell is full of ****. I also can't understand why Scott is still in a job. The recruitment since they came in, with a few exceptions has been awful.

I didn't say owners as far as I'm aware.
I'm talking about the senior management team. Methven & chums.
Apologies if I accidentally referred to them as owners, or wrongly used the term SE7.

You know how it goes @lardiman We tried to get X in but we couldn’t get it over the line so we have to get y in. I expect one loan signing. It has gone very quiet on Potts and Hylton.

Rodwell said only “a couple of tweaks” last night ie: a last min loan, or a freebie. My enthusiasm gauge for this mob is now below 1%. Running the club on the cheap, and gaslighting the fanbase in the process.

It was hilarious to hear manic, highly strung little Nathan Jones trying to answer the same question with “we are always on the look out for quality players” etc …just like I’m always on the lookout for a date with Melanie Sykes.

He looks a good age but inexperienced in league football, this being his first. A cheap signing (with six months of contract left only) that might be worth a punt
