An old pals reunion. I can’t see any other reason tbh. Seems like the standard ****e signing to finish off the incoming players.
Hylton’s signing just says to me that the transfer kitty was empty after Docherty in early July. We don’t need a 7th striker - far better giving a prospect like Kanu more game time & experience if we have to.
I agree. Big words, big promises, again. If we are deadly serious about promotion we would have pushed the boat out more. This doesn’t look like a squad that is going to get promoted. Tell Reams I am heading out to the game in about 30 minutes, as he seems very interested.
Our “promotion rivals” Birmingham City have spent over £12,000,000 on three new strikers. Nobody expects us to be spending anything like that sort of money, but the Luton Town tribute act routine is starting to wear a bit thin.
Two CAFC striker legends on the move today. Freddie Ladapo in talks with Huddersfield Town. He’s a free agent. Macauley Bonne has signed for non league Southend United.
Macauley Bonne - once described as "one for the future". Here's a quote from one of my favourite pieces of 1980's TV; "Remember we told you there was No Future? Well this is it."
Maybe as a Darren Pratley type inspiration- old pro ,calming influence for the youngsters ? Obviously not one for the future but get us through to the next window ?
I see no point in this signing whatsoever. for all the talk of he’s an experienced head, he’ll act as a role model etc etc I give you Godden, Berry, Campbell - surely that was the justification for them? for those who say he can help coach the team I refer you to the coaching team. If he was to be a coach fair enough but why would we give a coach such a short contract? I see no logic here. Perhaps he’s got dirt on Jones…
I’m the first to admit I’ve never heard of him, but someone at the game yesterday told me we are looking at a player called Louie Barry in January . @Dick Plumb1
He is an excellent player. I think he is on loan to another club at the moment. Stockport. He is a Villa player. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louie_Barry
Nathan Asiimwe has joined Hartlepool United on a short-term loan. The 19-year-old academy graduate, who featured in Tuesday's win against Cambridge United in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, has made 26 appearances for the first-team since making his senior debut in November 2022. Asiimwe now links up with Hartlepool side that currently sit 11th in the National League and could make his debut for the club on Saturday when they host Dagenham & Redbridge. Everyone at the club would like to wish Nathan the best of luck during his loan spell.
