Charlie Methven can’t help himself. He’s right about one thing though - CAFC fans were not happy about the Alfie May sale.
The PFA has publicised a list of L1 level players who are free agents without a club. Among those on a long list is Michael Hector.
I heard that they want to bring Potts in but he is asking for too much money. I will be happy if they now ship Fraser, Edun Taylor out.
From Richard Cawley Had indications that #cafc's incoming transfer business could be done. But Nathan Jones was talking today like a man who isn't wanting the wallet to be put away quite yet.
Rich Cawley (1st with the news again) reporting 4 possible exits today - Fraser, Edun, Taylor & Asiimwe.
9.59pm Dundee FC “we are delighted to confirm the signing of Scott Fraser on loan. We would like to thank CAFC for enabling this loan to happen (ie carry on paying his wages). 10.01pm Andy Scott “No further incomings were possible. We will try again in January”
It’s been said on Twitter that CAFC has alerted EFL clubs today that Fraser is available, but on £6-7k a week who can afford to take him ? We normally offload our s hite to the likes of MK Dons, Crawley or Swindon …Fraser’s wages rule out a move to any club of that size. He is obviously not going to get a move to Birmingham, leaving only one possible destination in terms of a club trying to buy success, and who pay silly money for average players. Does anyone have a contact at Wrexham ?
Richard Cawley @RichCawleySLP Believe agreement in place between Scott Fraser and #cafc to terminate his contract. Frees him up. Dundee want to sign him.
I will have to buy a lottery ticket tonight. This was very predictable & avoidable IMO. Why was it left so late ?
Just think how much the club has wasted in fees & wages in the last 3 seasons on Ronnie Schwartz Charlie Kirk Scott Fraser Chuks Aneke On transfer fees alone you are looking at a combined £1.5m plus…then add to that signing on fees and wages for in each case each player basically screwing the club, it comes to well over £2.5m I reckon. No wonder we seem stuck in this horrible league when our spending & recruitment has been so terrible.
On the assumption that there will be no more signings this window how do people feel we did? I think I’d grade it as a C+
B minus It's certainly not the wholesale change we saw in the Summer of 2011. But results so far (if not the style of play) are keeping pace with those of Chris Powell's new-look team. A long way to go though...
I’d give it a C+ Positives - Mannion, Mitchell, Docherty and Berry look decent. Edwards is out injured, and the Jamaican lad is one for the future. It’s too early to comment on Campbell, and the jury is out on Godden & Ahadme. The obvious negative is that you should never sell your best player to a promotion rival, especially a proven goal machine like Alfie May. Despite all the hot air from Charlie Methven & his forum stooges, including Dubai, the needy sponsor Swiz & that other fella with his binoculars on Dicky, the owners have not really spent. It’s all sleight of hand, again. Our lack of creativity and pace against teams who wise up to us and play a low block will probably be our undoing, as we don’t have any options off the bench now until January at least.
