QPR have signed youngster Joseph Ajose following his departure from Reading.
QPR have handed a one-year deal to the winger with an option for a further 12 months, as announced by their official club website.

Ajose, who is 20-years-old, was released by fellow Championship side Reading at the end of last season.

He has since been a free agent but has now been handed an opportunity with the Hoops.

Under-23s addition
Ajose will link up with QPR Under-23s as the R’s keep one eye on the future.

He is not the only addition to their development squad this summer, with ex-West Ham United attacker Sean Adarkwa and former Yeovil Town forward Alfie Lloyd making the same move over recent times.

Career so far
Ajose spent time in the academy at Newcastle United as a youngster before moving on to Port Vale in 2017.

He then spent three years on the books at Vale Park before signing for Reading in February 2020.

The wide man initially played for the Royals Under-18s before making the step up to their Under-23s last season.

He made 13 appearances last term but the Berkshire club decided not to extend his contract at the end of June when it expired.

New club
QPR have now signed Ajose and it will be interesting to see how he gets on for their development side over the next year.

Don't get this one at all with our set up. Surely will be behind Dykes and a fit Austin in the pecking order. Would prefer to spend in the holding midfield area bearing in mind the run around we have been given in 1st half of most games this season

Think that this may be a “Plan B” option when we get “locked out” with a high press.

I gather that Andre is fast and may provide a “different option” with his “pace”?

If this come to fruition, and I guess that it will, then I look forward to finding out how it will work.

Mark Warburton has been very successful in piecing together our team to date, and I am sure that he knows what he is looking forward and how this may work.

Im the opposite and totally understand this potential signing. One thing we lack up top is pace and this just adds another fantastic option to our play.

Totally agree Bob & got to give the bloke a chance & support him if he signs & yes we do lack pace, trying to remember our last CF with pace! not every ones cup tea but let’s see what he can do first

Andre Gray is currently undergoing a medial at QPR.

If the boy is hungry to prove a point this could be a brilliant signing for us. I wonder how much of his wage bill we will be covering.
 
another striker. Different formations and line ups win games, and in addition our bench looks stronger. Les not forget that we will get injuries and suspensions so this does make sense. In addition, a striker with something to prove. He might see this as an opportunity to get a permanent move elsewhere and if that mens he scores for us then Im haappy.

About the CD situation....we have Dickie, DeWisj, Barbet, Dunne and Kakay and in a complete emergency Ball... That should be enough surely.

The lack of pace in the forward line is an obvious problem...but I cannot quite see how it will work...
Especially if we are only playing 1 up front..

Statement or no statement, I don’t see the management/board being so stupid as to break our pay structure. The money would be one reason of course, but more importantly would be team morale. We made that mistake before, it would be a huge stupidity to do it again for a loan, so trusting they will make a statement to confirm this as well. I hope he does bring us something different Bob as you say. Would be happy to see him give a strong contribution to the team and fit in nicely for a continuing push for the next stage of the season.
 
We do lack pace up front so in that respect it's a decent signing.....

No idea what he's on salary wise at Watford but say for argument sake it's 50k we could probably stretch to paying 20% of that....10k and still be within the club pay structure....

Off course if we get 13m for toddy then we're quids in.....:biggrin:

I see why Warburton is bringing Gray in, if he is quick and can get goals for us.

I do still think we are short in defensive midfield, and potentially at CB, with Field out and Ball not always convincing in covering balls played back into space between the back 3 and the rest of the midfield. I see Kakay as more of a back up at WB than CB, and we could be short of CB's with just a couple out. A DCM who could also play CB would be ideal for me.
