By 'more than 3 million' I hope they mean by at least another 2 or 3 million. I know I am a biased fan, but Freeman has shown he is a very good player, and I for one would be disappointed to see him go for anything less than 5 million. However, as the old saying goes, beggars can't be choosers.
Read this and have been given a bit more hope; https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/3-reasons-why-qpr-have-reacted-in-the-right-way-to-sheffield-united-advance/https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/3...in-the-right-way-to-sheffield-united-advance/
I'm amazed that a Championship club would offer actual money, cash, dosh for a lump like Smith. Willing but has the mobility of a glacier. And I'm even more amazed that we should turn it down. Are we MAD?????!!!! Ship him out and let's concentrate on playing proper football rather than hoofball.
QPR ready to sell Luongo as Sheffield United pursue Freeman By David McIntyre 24/06/2019 Embed from Getty Images QPR are ready to sell Massimo Luongo. Rangers are in discussions with Sheffield United over the potential sale of Luke Freeman, having rejected an offer from the promoted club. Whereas Freeman signed a contract extension last November, giving the club more scope for negotiation over his transfer fee this summer, Luongo, 26, is about to enter the final year of his contract. Rangers believe there is little prospect of him signing a new deal given that he would have to accept a pay cut. They will therefore listen to offers for the Australia midfielder, who has made 145 league appearances since being signed from Swindon Town in 2015. Mark Warburton rates him highly and was interested in signing him while Nottingham Forest manager. But the financial realities facing Rangers mean they are not in a position to match Luongo’s current wages. And with a number of clubs indicating they are interested in signing him, there is now every expectation that he will be on the move. Rangers also expect to offload Matt Smith despite turning down an initial offer from Millwall, who remain keen on the striker, while Hull City want out-of-favour keeper Matt Ingram. Meanwhile, R’s boss Warburton is aiming to seal the signing of at least two Premier League youngsters on loan.
He’s depressingly right in most of what he says, although I’d like to see nearer £5 million for Freeman.
Just said to my lad that I'm actually looking forward to seeing some new players next season. Mix what we have got with the new lads, start Chair and a couple of loan signings. Quite refreshing
You have to be desperate to turn to Smith. I know he's been quite effective on occasions but, please, do we really want to play that sort of football? I'd rather bring on someone who was good in the air (Smith is only average, despite his height) AND is capable of covering a bit of ground.
He scores some spectacular goals too like his volley at the end of last season. I don't like the idea of him going to a relegation rival like Millwall where he will probably fit in all too well, and I can't think of any other qualified Championship striker on our books right now.
in the 1313 minutes played, Smith scored 8 goals. Freeman also scored 8 goals but played 3583 minutes, and Wells scored 9 in 3100 minutes. For all of Matt Smith's abilities - he was still the most effective goal scorer we had.
