It says signing decent quality players from RFC is no bad thing. Kelly, Wallace and Holt should improve your team if what I've read on this thread is anything to go by.
As for the old firm being Championship teams. That's bullpoop. Both would be lower/mid table premiership clubs at the moment.
Don't disagree that these signings are good for our club, we're a struggling Championship team with heavy financial constraints, and need players that the new manager can trust - these obviously fit the bill, and I look forward to seeing how they integrate into the squad.
Top 6 in the Championship is a similar standard to lower Prem. Both Old Firm teams would struggle in the Prem with their current squads, with at least one of them ending up in the drop zone. The standard of the lower teams in the Prem are way above the level of SPL mainly due to the huge amounts of money they receive, and then invest in their squads. If those levels of investment were available to Rangers and Celtic, then they would definately be able to compete at the mid level of the Prem, but you can forget any chance of European football and the cloaed shop that is the Champions League.
It's all pie-in-the-sky anyway, far more likely that the European league with the Dutch, Belgian and Nordic teams that has been discussed becomes reality, and you would be far more competetive in that competition.
