Like the sound of him and it’s a position we need someone. Would allow Scowen to play further up too.
I'd prefer we find a big mother... for our midfield. I struggle to remember anyone taller than the Thailand ladies back 4. It's the Championship they are playing in.
If he can’t do it in Scotland how will he survive at a much better standard, getting worried about these scot signings
Yeah a Senegalese cruiserweight destroying everything in his path would be fun but Diakite and Mbia were both abysmal. At least this guy sounds like a good egg.
But we need 1 or 2 of them X-Large eggs, with some quality omelette potential, produced wherever as long as they are on special offer, like free and last at whatever + or - degrees C.
Delusional...some are. We are a club that has been an absolute car crash due to incompetent management and leadership. Players signed for salaries that they could not justify leaving others having to cut the cloth accordingly. McLaren I thought did well last year - he said we were a top 18 side in the championship...and we are / were. No transfer window in Jan and he did well with what he had and what he was given. Players even liked playing for him. So MW comes in. Just like previous managers he will go for players he knows and trusts - players that will fit into a system he can and wants to play. Success (hopefully) will be in May next season. However he is changing things around and potentially bringing in players on less money than those shipped out. We need to trust him and give him time. Fair enough, they may not be house hold names to us but from what has been said they are players that will put a shift in. NW brought in two players I admire a lot, players that many thought would not fit in Clint Hill and Shaun Derry - two people I now wish were 20 years younger and signed with us!!! Let's at least give MW a chance - and his signings one as well
if Gerrard didn't fancy him as a player, and he was given a chance at Fleetwood to prove himself, he would have been stupid not to take it.
Maclaren was ****e and a car crash waiting to happen. Saying at the start of the season that we are a top 18 club is just meaningless insurance. ie we should be good enough to stay up. Just about.. After a **** start, down to his inept tactics, expensive loan signings gave us a decent three months. Those three months proved that he had been bullshitting us. We were always better than 'top 18'. What a stupid expression. Top 3, top 6 or even top 10 I understand. Top 18?? Just be honest. You just mean we shouldn't be in the relegation mix at the end of the season. There's nothing 'top' about that. When the loanees got injured or lost interest, Maclaren's luck ran out. We reverted to type for one of his teams ie when plan A does not work, he has no plan B but does not sort out the problems that everyone else can see- in our case sort out the defence and win ugly to stop the rot. Had he not have been sacked he would have failed his own miserable prediction.
In your opinion steels Where would the quality of most of Scottish football stand down south Division 2 standard Or worse Would Celtic or rangers stay in the Prem or be relegation fodder I spose they would have enough money to give it a go
The Old Firm, with a bit of aensible investment, would make top 6 in Championship in their first season, but would be able to build on that with further investment. Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Hibs & Hearts would struggle in the Championship, probably about similar level to what we've played at last couple of season. The rest of the SPL is League 1, and the team I watch, who are mid-table in the Championship up here, are Conference level at best.
The a league here is woeful I only go to watch the Wellington team because I get free tickets It can be a fun day out and there are one or two skillful players but the overall standard is poor Most Aussie teams would struggle in the championship
It says signing decent quality players from RFC is no bad thing. Kelly, Wallace and Holt should improve your team if what I've read on this thread is anything to go by. As for the old firm being Championship teams. That's bullpoop. Both would be lower/mid table premiership clubs at the moment.
I don’t think rangers would survive in the championship as they are now, they and Celtic have the infrastructure to grow and in 5 years could become mid table prem teams. Celtic as they are now would be about as good as qpr, would survive but only just in the championship. The rest of the Scottish prem would float around the lower leagues. The rest wouldn’t survive on leagues 5 and 6, just my opinion
