If Johnson leaves, who will play on the left if Brady is injured? Josh? Lafferty? Elliot Bennett and/or Tony Andreu going out on loan seem better bets than us selling BJ to Derby.

Naismith and Walters can play an advanced left-sided role better than Bradley IMO.

I take your point about keeping him as cover, but if getting rid of him enables us to bring in Walters and Naismith, I'm all for it.

He won't start for us under AN in the Prem, barring injuries.

We've got hundreds of other CMs, and if we brought in Naismith, we'd have a better player capable of playing on the left.

What, because he hasn't started these past few games you think we won't ever be first choice under AN? Really?? It's a long old season between now and May, it's a squad game and we need to keep all our best players - and as PotS last year he definitely fits into that category. Can't agree with you at all I'm afraid, if we were to get rid of him this window it will be the most bizarre piece of business I think we will have ever been involved in.

Personally, I don't think he will, but then what do I know?

Yes, keep him if we can, but if selling him/loaning him out will enable us to get one or two upgrades, I say do it.

The suggestion is that both Naismith and Walters don't like playing out wide, which is why they are seeking moves.

Max Gradel injured for six months, hopefully this means Bournemouth will be back in for Grabban (PLEASE!!!!!)
As if by magic...

"Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam is reporting live from Bournemouth suggesting that the Grabban deal is NOT dead and that his former club remain interested. "

WBA (Pulis) are interested in Walters, which could go one of two ways. Either he'll be keen to link up with his old manager who got a lot out of him, or he'll be looking to play for someone who will use him more as a striker. He was mainly a wide player under Pulis.

I think the worst business we could do today would be to not move Grabban on. Regardless of his (dubious) merits on the field of play, it makes absolutely no sense to keep an unhappy and potentially disruptive player as part of the squad. If we genuinely had been offered anything upward of £5m I am quite frankly staggered we haven't snapped their hand off and used that money to strengthen the squad.

I think that does make sense, Tony, but I suspect we need to get Walters in first.

Sounds like Stoke won't let Walters go without getting a replacement in first - can we swap him for Grab-and-run?
